after-party ♔ september

Jeux d'eau - Ravel

WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (if you are uncertain if your character would be at the castle for this, ask!)
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || September 6th, 2014, 6:00PM
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam

The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

More like the give-you-exactly-what-you-want-via-drug-induced-fever-dream kind. My brother got snagged by one, once. When I found him he was strung up and half dead.

[Not so funny, eh?]

Most people where I'm from don't know that that stuff's out there. It's a little hard to live normally when you know the boogeyman is real.

[Max nods in agreement. Not in an empathetic way though, since he is the boogeyman in most of the modern day stories rather than the hero.]

Ignorance is indeed a bliss. That's why I always live by the motto, "enjoy what you can and only care when you need to care."

[Yeah, he is not exactly the world-saving hero type. If you are interested, he also lives by several other mottoes, such as "kick, don't lockpick," and "eat, sleep, and hit."]

If you think too much about the boogeyman and his victims, you won't get a good night sleep.

[Yeah that is exactly the opposite of his motto 90% of the time. It reminds him a little of Dean, though. Or at least the vibe Dean likes to give off.]

Whatever helps you get by.

[It's not his place to tell him otherwise. Sam also prefers the lockpick tbh. And books.]

I think I'm just one of those people that got used to it. Not everyone can.

Well, good for you. I heard chicks dig that kind of guy. The nerves-of-steel smartypants hero kind of guy. You definitely look like the type. Just try to hold off the brother obsession, kay? Most girls don't like man talking about another man. [Says the never-dated-before half-orc. Way to steer the conversation, Max!]

Yeah, right. Of course not.

[How did this turn into a conversation about chicks? Are you Dean, Max?]

Thanks for the tip, I guess.
