The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

True enough. I'd hunt him down myself if I thought I could manage it, but he's probably hopping all over the place chasing these guys.

Do I know how hard it is to wait to find out if my brother is my brother or his evil twin from a parallel universe? [ Her eyebrows raise. ] No. But If i had to guess, I'd say distracting yourself might help.

[ She sets her cup aside on a handy table, then holds a hand out to him, expectant. ]

[ With a tight-lipped smile that still manages to be saccharine, she takes his hand, lifting it above her head as she turns to lead him out to the floor without missing a beat. ]

[He opens his mouth to apologize but closes it a moment later as she leads him away.

[ he's so lucky she got a hella will save or she would have just bounced (will 23). as it stands, lydia schools herself in patience and tries to teach his broke ass how to dance passably. his complete lack of skill does not rub off on her, at least (dance 26). which, sadly, only makes his white boy dancing more apparent. ]

I didn't think dancing was going to be one of the required skills of the position.

I'm fairly certain the message the school was trying to send when they held things like Winter Formal and Prom.

I wouldn't know. I was only ever at one school for a couple weeks at a time at most.

Asking girls out was more Dean's thing than mine, and I'm pretty sure those weren't things guys went to stag.

I didn't manage to stay in a school full time until I went to college, and by then, prom was kind of out of the question.

Plenty of girls bring their boyfriends to prom after they've already graduated. It's not even a big deal.

Boyfriends, yay. Not the guy that rolled into town and only stayed a week. Besides, I didn't need to be dragging any high school girls into my family mess.
