[ It seems that Wynn was hoping for Sir Mark Sandazhard to reveal his true identity, and to lead the charge against Dimitris Sarandis' tyrannical hold over the island he was born to rule. He was not disappointed, and Prince Marcus Andres stands poised to lead the group of Knights who he's worked beside for two years, to confront Sarandis, save their friend Kat, and search the castle dungeon for the captive Dragon's Claw, Sir Thomas Bancroft.

Before they attempt to answer the castle, however, it's time to reunite the Prince with his childhood friends on the Isle, who had long held out hope that he was still alive, including his once-betrothed, Countess Lara Tamon. Their first task will be to convince Lara to make a risky attempt to draw Kat out of the castle.

The fate of their captured allies, and the future of Andres Isle, lie in their hands. ]

[Myri's felt nearly every emotion a person can feel in the span of the last two days. As usual, the flight seems to calm her. Being in the sky has a way of grounding her- strange as that might sound. Leaning her head back, she closes her eyes for a moment, not sleeping but trying to keep her mind clear of the thousands of worrying thoughts that try to creep in.

She's not turning away company, though. Here for any of your last minute pre-war chats.]

[ at one point during the flight, gar slips quietly into the seat beside her. she's looked a little adrift through the entire flight, as if the very act of not being able to slip into her accustomed position beside kat on the plane has thrown her off entirely.

there's also the fact that her fiancee is with another group entirely right now. she might have been watching myri and finnick speak earlier without saying much of anything. ] How are you doing?

[Opening her eyes and turning her head, Myri offers Gar a gentle smile without any hesitation.]

Worse than some. Better than people likely believe is true. I'm mostly just ready for all of this to be over. I want to bring her home.

[ oh my god did she crit fail? yes she did. she looks away suddenly, trying to conceal the tears stinging her eyes. ] Yes, I... I think we all are.

[Whoops. Myri feels instantly terrible. Reaching over, she takes Gar's hand and offers a comforting squeeze.]

I'm sorry. I know it's worse for you than any of us. But we're going to save her.

I-- [ it's clear that she's trying to muster up a smile, a nod, a 'go team we've got this' but her entire face crumples as the tears come leaking out and a choked sob is all that escapes. she grips myri's hand with a death grip and turns into her shoulder, weeping almost silently. ] How could I have-- [ but that's as far as she gets before she's overcome with hiccuping sobs. ]

Oh, Gar... [Myri reaches with her free hand to cradle the woman's head against her shoulder.]

Shhh... No. No, it wasn't your fault. I know it hurts. I know it feels like you're being jabbed right through the heart. But please try not to let that feeling overwhelm you with guilt. Everyone's blaming themselves, but there's only one person to blame- and that's him.

[Kat had said as much when Gar tried to blame herself for Myri being tortured. And if Kat can't be here to say it, Myri would do it for her.]

[ myri's words soothe her enough that she stops being wracked with tears, and she sniffs as she wipes furiously at her eyes. ] I feel all the worse for... for having something of my own to be so-- so happy about, while she's going through -- [ she shakes her head, and it's clear that she has no idea that anyone else knows, from the way she self-consciously tries to draw away her hand - which is definitely sporting a ring. ] I know that Dimitris is the guilty party, but walking away, leaving her in his hands-- That was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

I know. I hated that we had to. And with how close you two are, I know it felt that much worse. But he'll pay for what he's done. And we'll bring her home safe.

[Myri reaches for Gar's left hand.]

Never feel guilty for having something to celebrate. Des told me but I didn't know how much you wanted to talk about it.

He... he did? [ she looks surprised, but not upset about it. ] It... hasn't felt like the right time to mention anything. I can barely even wrap my head around it yet.

With all that we deal with, it might never be the right time. But there's something to be said for remembering that life isn't always... this. That there are good moments, that there are things to look forward to.

[ a few more tears spill out, tracing down her cheek and dripping off her chin, but they're accompanied by a shaky smile, and a real light in her eyes. ] It's certainly given me a reason to want to come out the other side of this.

I know the feeling. [oh my god joint bachelorette party!! jk that's not what myri's thinking but that would be fun.] I won't tell anyone else, but you shouldn't feel like you need to keep something like that from us. We care about you- and Stargods know we want to see you find happiness too.

I think... I think we all deserve a bit of our own, after all we've been through.

We will. Happiness is catching. So don't be afraid to show it when you've found it. And once we're on the other side of this, perhaps you and I could discuss wedding plans?

[Distraction is the name of Myri's game on this flight. Just going to put all the nerves as far from her mind as possible, focusing on the good things.]

I'd-- I'd like that, yes. [ she exhales out a breath and then manages a genuine smile, her eyes still watery, but joy in them as well. she laughs abruptly, a breathy noise. ] I hadn't even put the word to it yet.

There will be time for all of that later. But hold onto it. Sometimes we have to go through a very dark forest to find a beautiful clearing. We'll get there. All of us. Together.

Of course we will. [ she reaches over to squeeze myri's hand once more ] I'll... I'll leave you be for now, but... thank you, Myri.

[Squeezing Gar's hand back, myri nods and lets her go about her business.]
