[ It seems that Wynn was hoping for Sir Mark Sandazhard to reveal his true identity, and to lead the charge against Dimitris Sarandis' tyrannical hold over the island he was born to rule.   He was not disappointed, and Prince Marcus Andres stands poised to lead the group of Knights who he's worked beside for two years, to confront Sarandis, save their friend Kat, and search the castle dungeon for the captive Dragon's Claw, Sir Thomas Bancroft.    

Before they attempt to answer the castle, however, it's time to reunite the Prince with his childhood friends on the Isle, who had long held out hope that he was still alive, including his once-betrothed, Countess Lara Tamon.  Their first task will be to convince Lara to make a risky attempt to draw Kat out of the castle.  

The fate of their captured allies, and the future of Andres Isle, lie in their hands.  ]

[finnick smiles grimly at gar's remark bcuz it's ironic to him in a way that only he would understand. :'|]

Can we really count on him being alone, though?

[ She shakes her head. ]

So we try to find Thomas and prepare for the worst.

[ Which means heading down this side hallway they're walking down, for the time being. ]

[ the hallway sports several fancy looking paintings that look like they came straight out of a museum, but other than that, few doors. they find one way down, however, and mark grabs the handle, which clicks softly open. it creaks a bit as he pushes on it, and ducks his head in. the entire room is pitch dark, so i guess only spike will be able to see into it, where a large table dominates the room. it looks like there's several unlit candles on it, as well as several goblets set out. ]

DON'T FUCKING TALK TO ME.

[des squints into the darkness.]

Well. They're probably not keeping Bancroft in there.

[rationalizes]

I'm not certain it's wise to leave any stone unturned, however... [ gar pauses, and draws out her phone, where she plays a certain message, that they've all received. ] My God...

[bigbad]

Oh, no, monstrous creatures. What the bugger will we do? Never dealt with that before....

[Spike not a bit of that is helpful. As the one who can see he's going to look around for idiot traps (spot 25) and then search the room (search 18).

Oh I guess he can light the candles too with his lighter.... you're welcome people who aren't vampires.]

[ there's some kind of button on the far side of the wall that he'd discover??? no fire traps spouting off to kill him or anything. and he doesn't set himself on fire with the candles, so mark and gar will follow him in. ] This is all a little bit familiar. Back at NOVA? Anybody?

[bigbad]

[Spike's gonna push the button.]

[rationalizes]

[ there's a strange whirring sound as several giant screens reveal themselves, high up on the wall with the door. gar steps in further, turning backward and brushing mark's arm, gesturing for him to turn and look at them as well. ]

[werwatey????] Maybe it's ... some sort of security room.

[Des is examining the goblets on the table, because he's a detective. And rolled an 18 wis to remember this, so he's looking for the same patterns and telltale signs as the room Mark's talking about.] That room we found the hourglass and that little weasel Gilbert in. Their creepy little cult ritual room or whatever.

Did it have screens like this?

[ Buffy steps up beside Gar and Mark, staring up at them with squinty eyes. ]

More importantly - check and see if the game is on. These screens are kick ass.

[Archer leans against the wall and stares.]

You've got to admit, this prick Dimitris has some badass toys.

They're not his. [ abruptly, a symbol flashes up on the screen, the same writing that was on the floor further back in this floor. it looks like a loading screen, and mark glances over at spike. ] I don't remember there being anything like this in the Nova room. Just those nasty guys in the coffins.

Yeah. [Des moves forward, abandoning the goblets, so he can get closer to the screens.] Let's see what they've been watching.

[witchwoman]

[Myri has a bad feeling. But this whole as basically been one whole bad feeling, so that's not all that surprising. She doesn't step up towards the screen, though. She's not sure she wants to see what it might show them.]

[rationalizes]

[ the image that pops to life on all screens is the same - what looks like a surveillance camera, showing a room likely somewhere in the castle, with a roaring fire, and fancy overstuffed chairs flanking it. dimitris steps into frame, carrying two goblets, which he very deliberately sets down on the table between them, his back to the camera. ] Sarandis...

And someone else.

[ She points up like she's trying to indicate the second wine glass but it's always hard to tell what people are pointing at so good luck with that. Wait. Basic mental math. It's probably Kat. Her stomach turns. ]

I can't watch this.

[usurping]

Ah, but I insist.

[ it takes a disorienting moment to realize that it's a direct response, and it's in that beat of disheartening realization that the door slams shut. as dimitris turns around, the glow of the roaring fire before him creates a suitably diabolic visual, and the empty smirk he affixes on the screen is full of bitter hatred. he reaches into his pocket and withdraws a very slim remote, taking a couple of steps forward. ] Did you really think you'd manage to make it so far without alerting me to your presence?

Entertaining, certainly, but you'll have to forgive me if I'm not in the mood for a jest tonight. [ he moves forward again, looming so that his face fills up the screen. ] You've reached the end of the line, I'm afraid, and you'll perish knowing how close you came - and with this reminder:

That I've won. [ he clicks a button, and slips the remote away again, as a knock is heard on the door, his attention shifting that way. he cuts the camera one last final smirk, before disappearing out of the shot. ]

[des looks livid despite his default icon.]

That sick fuck.

[and yet he can't tear his eyes away from the screen. Maybe he can kill dimitris with his brain.]

[Myri feels sick. Ugh. Shaking her head, she closes her eyes briefly.]

We have to keep moving.

We can't. [(listen 26 says he heard that lock click) He shoves the hand not currently wrapped around his gun like its a security blanket into his pocket pointedly, still scowling at the screen.] Not unless someone has a good way out they wanna share.

I've always been a fan of making my own.

[ She pulls the axe off her shoulders, readying it as she heads for the door. Raising it over her head, she brings it down with a powerful swing (atk 35, dmg 27). If the door shuts, hACK THROUGH THE DOOR. ]

She does know how to make an exit. [Spike saunters over to help though man, he's not gonna stop Buffy's one-woman battle against the door she looks like she's having too much fun. But he can always attempt to pick the lock....]
