[ The success of much of the Andres operation hinges on cutting off communication between Sarandis and his men on the Isle. The first step to doing so is a quiet takeover of the city's power station, located a couple miles away from any other buildings, surrounded by woods on three sides. The power station group is one of those who are being transported via a scroll of greater teleport cast by Sir Hasmed, and he lands them precisely on target - in a clearing not far away from the station, in the early hours of night on Andres Isle.

They find themselves transported from the black and white tiled floors of the castle... outside, surrounded by trees. Zatanna immediately checks her Drakenet phone, running the program sent out by Zero for mission leaders to check their latitude and longitude on, to double check that the spell was successful. After a moment, it beeps once softly, and she offers a little sigh of relief, looking at the others. ]

[ ... Holy shit that's a giant spider. Malina's reaction is immediate. She quickly casts Flaming Sphere (one flaming sphere that can move at her whim and lasts for six rounds). She throws it quickly at the spider for a grand total of 7 fire damage that a it can evade with a reflex save of 15.]

[ wow it crit failed its reflex save, apparently slightly tangled up in its own webbing from its spin, and takes all that fire right to the face.

the brown aranea uses its own web to break its fall as it suddenly drops downward towards malina, crashing into her from above (melee touch attack 10, 14 dmg if that somehow hits ]

Well this is a lovely drive, isn't it?

[ He looks around, besides and leans forward to check in front. ] Are we all okay? Don't suppose anybody has any anti-Shelob devices to hand, do they?

[ Sebastian pulled the sword again. Spitting his half smoked cigarette to the side once the spider came down. Time to get back to work. He moves towards Malina, ready to swing if she cant get herself up. Waiting though to give her just that chance.]

[ zee raises a hand towards the black spider pounding away on the car and shouts (spellcraft 41): ] Ezylarap!

[ with its will save of 14, it is effectively paralyzed for 3 rounds ]

[Well, this is not the normal evening for Allison, but considering she isn't sure what normal is around here -- she's guessing this isn't it either. Either way, she's going to try and get out of the car - but HA HA she crit fails the strength check instead. wtg. Maybe someone else can get the door open.... and she can just climb out their door.]

[Kate handles her door a little bit better, shoving her shoulder into it and forcing the door open (strength 18). As soon as the door is clear she's bailing from the car, drawing her weapon in the process.]

Aim for the hump! [Willow calls out after Kate as she leaves the car, recalling information on the creatures from her studies.] They have magic and their bite is poison. Oh, and they can shapeshift.

[ allison practically throws her shoulder out, which means she'll take a -2 to all attacks during the battle. the black spider is still paralyzed up here which makes it phineas' turn. ]

[Phineas takes a wimpy swing at the Black Spider - Atk of 8, lol.]

Poison? [He squeaks out meekly.]

[Brown misses her, but manages piss her off all the same. Since Black is paralyzed, she's going to flick her wrist, sending the flaming sphere across to Brown in retribution for 7 fire damage provided he doesn't make his reflex save (DC 16).

After that she gives Phineas a look.]

Do your job and kill them and they can't poison you. Focus.

[ with a 23 reflex save, the spider easily leaps away, waving its front legs as it tries to cast a sleep spell on malina. a will save 14+ negates. ]

[ Reaching forward he sets his hand to Willow's shoulder. ]

You stay here, keep watch, shout if anything gets too bitey.

[ And on that, he pushes against the chair and out through the open door to join the team. ]

[ Sebastian runs forward tries a swing of the bastard sword at those wiggly brown spider legs. ( atk 10 ) ]

[ sebastian misses, and zatanna throws a lightning bolt at the spider, that courses past him towards the spider. again, it easily leaps away (ref 26), taking half damage (17) as it's singed. ]

[Her shoulder is definitely not happy with her right now, but she still struggles her way out of the car and takes her stance. She feels the blow from the door immediately as she raises her bow, but she doesn't want to think about it too much. She aims for the hump of the black one, as Willow pointed out ( atk 23-2 = 21 | dmg = 5 ) and hopes that her shoulder doesn't mess her aim up too much.]

[Kate quickly takes aim at Black as well, taking in Willow's advice and aiming for the hump (attack 23, damage 18 with penetration damage).]

[Willow stays in the car.. for now... but moves to the open door to peer out at the fighting as it's happening. She'll spend her round watching the way it fights to maybe use her Exploit Weakness talent later?? She doesn't have a weapon tho so we'll see what sort of adventure that takes...]

[Phineas knows the feeling, Willow. He should have prepared less utility, more for battle. Nothing to do about that, now... He'll take a swing at the Black spider, Naturally, it's a critical failure. Classic Phineas.]

[Malina resists the spell easily (will save 21), and brings the fireball back around again (round 3) to do another 6 points of fire damage provided he doesn't make the reflex save again though this guy is clearly faster than the other one (DC 16).]

[ he barely fails his save (ref 15), taking some of that damage, as phineas manages to awkwardly pull a muscle, also getting a -2 to attacks for 4 rounds. the spider bites at him (atk 23, 4 dmg, and a save vs poison dc14 or 3 str damage) ]

[ He's not much for fighting, but he can try and draw attention from the people who can. Stepping out of the car, he calls out at the top of his lungs, waving his arms a little too. ]

Oi! Spiders. Over here!

[ Well this might be a terrible decision. ]

[ Sebastian gets distracted by the Doctor's aim to distract, looking back an arching a brow.]

Dude are you mad! [ bad life choices here.]

[ the black spider is just about ready to burst out of his paralysis, which means zee targets it with five magic missiles (20 dmg), which is enough to batter it to death before it can start moving. which just leaves the brown spider trying to kill phineas over there... ]

[Allison's aim shifts easily from the black spider toward the brown one with a simple shifting of her frame. Her shoulder still hurts, but she takes aim and tries for another arrow to the hump ( atk 20 | dmg 5 ) and hopes to help bring that one down too.]
