[ Having spent months scrying on areas of the Island scouted out by Sir Bancroft and Sir Chessing, Hasmed is able to send a few groups to the Island via greater teleport spells, with a fairly small margin for error, as to where they're going to land. The Shadowkind prison teams land flawlessly, and the very big group appears in a clearing in the middle of the woods, abruptly finding themselves surrounded by trees and mostly darkness. The moon is in its last quarter, and with the trees so thick above them, there are only patches of light that filter down here and there. Those with darkvision or lowlight vision can see perfectly, but anyone with normal vision may find themselves squinting to see much of anything.

The teleport spell only works if the entire group is physically connected, so when they arrive, Wolverine yanks his hand off Nathan's shoulder, and gives Drax a Look like stop touching me if you value your hand. Eric runs his Drakenet app to determine their location, then announces: "Dead on." In other words, no spell mishap sending them miles off target. Beside them all, Lan's mount, Daisy, stamps her feet slightly, obviously unnerved by the magic. He whispers "Whoa, there" and reins her in, causing her to settle. ]

[GRARGH PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH. Drax is just gonna punch the ever loving shit out of this guy (atk 25 dmg 10, atk 21 dmg 10, atk 20 dmg 8).]

[ nathan gets a gun butt to the head (atk 26; dmg 5) but motherfucker's still up tho, even between drax and rocket both smacking away at him. he does stumble backwards a bit, trying to shoot rocket this time (atk 15), unable to aim well with everyone up on his grill. guard two tries to smack faith (atk 22; 4 dmg if it hits annnd then a miss), while three moves back to shoot at logan, but his shots do a lot of nothing. the fourth guard keeps unloading on drax (atk 14 & atk 23; 5 dmg for the second one) ]

[Faith takes the hit and it stings a bit, but doesn't do much to phase her. She'll just strike at him again! (attack NAT 20 + 14, dmg 38!!!) boom.]

[ faith's fist cracks into his face, but he manages to make his fort save vs massive damage, still on his face, but staggering.

logan strikes with both claws (atk 23 and atk 31; dmg 37), cutting his guard up a bit more ]

[the good news is nathan got a gun. the bad news is he has no idea what he's doing (i.e. doesn't have personal firearms proficiency) and he's gunning after a guard currently in melee (logan's guard bc that's his daddy ok), so with all those penalties his atk ends up being a whopping 11. go fuckin team.]

[Wow this asshole JUST WILL NOT DIE. Rocket's just gonna climb up the guy and launch an ALL OR NOTHING attack. First he's gonna BITE THE EVERLOVING SHIT OUT OF HIS GUN ARM. No really. (atk nat 20, dmg 16) Apparently, it's fair to bite when you're extremely pissed off. For his next attack, he swings out his leg to clock the guy in the jaw (atk 20 total, dmg 8, if that hits).

Thanks to this being an "all or nothing" attack, Rocket misses his next turn and also gets a -4 to his defense for the next round, bringing it to a 22. WORTH IT IF THE GUY FALLS OVER. Less worth it if he's still up.]

[Drax spares a moment to give Rocket a proud look for all that barehanded (barepawed?) murder then turns towards the next closest guard, letting loose with all of his fists. A little too loose. Seriously, Drax, did your eyes get all misty over Rocket's success and you forgot how to punch? (atk 16, atk 14, atk 11).]

[ faith's guard isn't looking too hot, and he's unarmed still, but he keeps trying to smack her and... crit fails ahahaa. he's so staggered by her last major blow that he trips and dives face first into the open prison door next to him, losing his next turn.

logan's guard keeps backing away, firing at logan as he howls in rage, but shooting logan is about as fruitless as always, as he keeps healing over the damage slowly, even when they do any damage at all.

drax's guard avoids his punches and tries to clobber him with the gun (atk 28; 4 dmg) ]

[Well, why not kick a guy while he's down! (atk 23; dmg 15) These boots are probably made for more than walking.]

[ the guard grunts as her foot digs into his side, and wolvy goes to town on his guard (atk 30; atk 29: total dmg 42), stabbing his blades knuckle deep into his chest, then yanking them out, allowing the body to slump to the ground. ]

[nathan is being sooooo helpful and shooting at logan's guard again even tho there's like a 100 percent chance he's dead. he also proves that he can't shoot the broad side of a barn with his atk 13.]

[Rocket technically gets skipped this round. I'm just... establishing that he's recovering from the fact that he just mauled a guy. God, that's disgusting. /casually spits out guard blood.

[GRAGH DRAX IS GONNA PUNCH THINGS AGAIN. More successfully this time! (atk 26 dmg 11, atk 23 dmg 8, atk 14). Nobody better attack the raccoon while he's recovering okay it'll piss off Drax.]

[ FINALLY somebody hits that guy, jeez. two guards are dead, which leaves faith's unfortunate dude, who decides to try to grab faith's foot and trip her. buuut that does provoke an attack of opportunity from faith, who can try to kick him again first, so she gets a free attack right now!

drax's soldier moves back and fires at him again, but it's too hard to aim with him bearing down on top of him (atk 14; atk 12) ]

[When he tries to trip her, she kicks him in the face!! (attack 33; damage 15) and then while she's at it, she's going to step on the hand that tried to trip her! (attack 31; damage 15).]

[ blood spurts from his nose, and then there's a sickening crack as his hand breaks, and he... stops moving. or breathing. or living.

logan moves five feet to flank drax's guard, stabbing him quite literally in the back (atk 26; atk NAT 20; 28+36=64 dmg). one of logan's claws apparently pierces him right through the heart from behind, the metal extending out his chest so that drax can see for a moment, before he yanks them out and the guard falls, dead.

/init! ]

[damn wolvy. once rocket has determined whether or not all the guards are dead, he collects a couple of their guns.] Looks like most of the prisoners cleared out. <[he drops the guns in a pile. FREE GUNS FOR WHOEVER IS LEFT!! And then goes to retrieve his machine gun and see if Eebo is still hiding.]

[nathan just tosses the gun he was holding on the ground like WHATEVER HE WAS A SHITTY SHOT BECAUSE OF THE GUN OK. and picks up a new gun like that one will be so much better.] That means we can torch the place, yeah?

[/optimistic.]

[Meanwhile Drax looks over at Logan, suitably impressed.] You fight well for a Terran. [Does he realize this is his mentor??? Maybe (wis 14) but it's unclear if he cares.]

And so do you for a -- [ he looks drax over briefly, and comes up empty ] -- whatever you are.

[ and then the entire facility

seems to echo with a resounding cracking noise above and all around them.

followed by more thunderous booms. ] The fuck was that?

[rocket raises his machine gun to point upwards like that will... totally help.]

Oh, just the sound of the fun bein' over is all. We need to get the hell outta here.

[nathan is pulling out another grenade just in case shit is about to get real.] You don't think Charlotte is out looking for lunch, do ya?

Think there were worse things than your girlfriend up there to worry about. We need to go.
