[ Meanwhile, a group of ten lands on... the roof of a building in the upscale sector of town. The half-moon lights the sky around them enough for any of them to get a good glance at what surrounds them. In the distance, moonlight plays across the river dividing the city, and the roofs of the Shadow village homes can be barely made out. But here, there are opulent old-money homes scattered here and there, and a number of commercial buildings coursing up and down the main thoroughfare. Colin doublechecks the location on the phone, which lights up his face eerily as he checks the screen, and then he slides it into his pocket, turning to nod the others. ]

We find ourselves on scenic Andres Isle, atop the historic Grand Hotel.  The very heart of the Island, ladies and gentlemen.  Advising caution seems unnecessary.

[ if slinn notices those come hither looks, he doesn't show it, nose in the air as he turns to face alex. ] Then let us hope they lose interesst quickly.

I make the most of every situation. But I am afraid you are, well, [ a derisive little smirk flits across his lips ] not quite my type.

[ambitionist]

Oh, honey. I'm everyone's type. [he smiles back and shrugs, not seeming particularly bothered by the spurned advances. he is actually relieved. :'| as we all should be.] But suit yourself. I'm not ready to go back out yet. Want a smoke? [come on slinn, u know u want to. you'e european.]

[slinn]

Will not they be waiting for us to come back inside? How can their little game begin otherwise?

[ambitionist]

You needed extra time to familiarize yourself with the rules. [so unfazed. w/e, he's going to pull the cigarettes out of his jacket pocket and offer one to slinn. now or never son.] They'd complain even if we only took five seconds. I know the type. Might as well give them a reason.

[slinn]

I suppose a bit of indulgence here and there will help make this night less tedious. [ he'll take the cigarette, though he's pulling out his own lighter. ] After you.

[ambitionist]

Absolutely. [he pulls out his own lighter, lights his cigarette, and takes a drag.] I can't stand it sometimes, you know? They're just so ... boring. Homogenous.

[slinn]

I did not think that utility workers attended many such things.

[ambitionist]

[his shoulders roll in another shrug.] I've got a spotty past.

[slinn]

And perhaps an equally checkered future, if your employers learn you are advising people to light cigarettes during a gas leak. [ he notably hasn't lit his yet, and is just watching alex smoke his with a jackass smirk. ]

[ambitionist]

[his expression is perfect flat exasperation.] We're not dead yet, are we?
