The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Her expression is pleasant enough, though she doesn't hide the fact that she's surprised to see him.]

This party does kind of feel like a big reunion, doesn't it?

[oh thank christ, she called him the right name. at this point, he's honestly expecting someone to call him "rumplestiltskin" and shatter his rapidly fading illusions.]

It does, indeed. [a moment's pause.] It's a shame Mr. Nolan can't be here.

[Snow couldn't possibly keep the startled and confused expression of her face at that.

David...[The name catches in her throat, followed by another.] ...Charming's here?

You didn't hear? [whoops. he assumes... someone would have told her that...] He had a rather unfortunate encounter in Bermuda with a Homo Magi's love curse. Wynn felt it was in his best interest to send him away until the problem was resolved.

[at least he didn't say "the bastard failed his will save and nolaned it up again."]

Indeed. The Homo Magi have an unfortunate curse placed on them to fall in love with the first mortal they meet eyes with. For Amara, it was David.

[He's learning to hate that question and what hides behind it.] I realize this isn't the sort of place one finds a pawnbroker, but it did seem like a fine idea at the time. And so far I haven't been the worst for it.

It's more than Regina remembers, but lacking certain memories can only be good for them. She hates to lie, but she hates the idea of uprooting what is probably a much more satisfying life worse.

Have you spoken to Emma yet? She seemed quite surprised to see you at the ceremony. That's to be expected, however... We were in Germany for months. You tend to miss things.
