The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Drax has as usual forgone half his clothes and thus needs no disguise check. He beams at Rocket as he approaches.]

Friend! We are part of a team again! Though I doubt this organization for all its size could guard an entire galaxy.

They don't even got ships. [He laughs sardonically. Seriously, guys. Invest in spaceships. Galactic savioring is where it's at.] I'd hate to see how all their fancy little antiques stand up against a Badoon fleet.

[All mockery aside, part of him is glad for the sense of belonging again. He's too manly to admit it though. Maybe after inhaling his body weight in bubbly.]

The Badoon would surely destroy their airplanes with one shot. And even with better shielding, they do not have nearly enough of them for such a battle.

God, they're so fucked if anything from our neck of the woods invades 'em. [He rubs his head, exasperated now that he's thinking about it.] At best, we could catch a ride out, maybe.

[but he won't do that. because he's a better person now.

sigh.]

We would have to disable the ships and bring them down to the planet. Then we could crush the individuals as they removed themselves from the wreckage.

[It's good to have a plan.]

And once they're not threatenin' this freakin' rock, we could go home.

[It's a nice thought, even has a happy ending for Terra. Just one problem...] If it's even the same d'ast galaxy out there.

No one here seems to have heard of our galaxy or the planets it contains. I do not know if it is because Terra is so primitive or because they do not exist here.

Probably both, knowin' our luck. [he scratches an ear.] Guess we're in it for the long haul, big guy.

At least our friendship has transcended memory loss and travel through universes.

I'll drink to that. [He barks a laugh, sloshing his drink a bit as he holds it up, only to stare at it grimly as realization comes crashing down on him.] Still be nice if Groot, Quill, and Gamora were here.

Yes, it would. [Drax looks down at his own drink glumly.] Before I had friends I never felt like I was lacking when other people were not near me! I dislike this feeling.

[beatupgrass]

Tell me about it. [He downs his drink and shakes his head as it burns going down.] This is why I avoided makin' friends. [He scratches an ear thoughtfully.] It'd help if we even knew they were okay or lookin' for us. Or whatever.

[spinerip]

[Drax frowns, looking away.] I am not certain Quill can survive without us.

[beatupgrass]

[rocket tries to defend quill for a hot minute, because maybe he should... but he's pretty sure quill's survival thus far has been a combination of them and then Yondu, previously. They don't know how his mad skills on Morag. Clearly he should have filmed that.]

Gamora's got her work cut out for her, man.
