The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Sir Killian Jones. [He gives a shallow bow, flourishing out a hand.] But in the Enchanted Forest most knew me as Captain Hook. [He glances up at her to see if the name rings any bells. He... wouldn't put it past Regina to not recognize him with two hands tbh.] You hired me once.

[ her interest visibly wanes at that explanation, actually. ] Well, that explains a few things. I have better things to do with my time than memorize the name of every ship captain I've ever hired.

[That wasn't what she hired him for, but honestly he feels like "No you hired me to kill your mother except then I swapped sides and started working for her" is not the greatest conversation to start off on.]

Of course. They also say the veil can take your memories when you come to this land. Perhaps, even if our meeting had been... memorable, you would forget.

And was it for you, Captain? [ steps a little closer, wearing what is neither sneer nor smirk but some weird hybrid of both. ]

Well, one doesn't meet many queens in my line of work. [His bluff check isn't extremely high (bluff 14), but he's not trying that hard. Not when it's more important to match her, meeting her eyes with a smirk.]

I just wonder how much you do remember? Or our world, of your life. Perhaps I may be able to help... fill in some gaps.

[Bahahaha Hook's wis check of 8 means he doesn't see a single reason why this might be a bad idea. Emma wants him to get information, right?? She'll understand.

[ she repeats the word with uneasy tension, as if it's a phrase that's both foreign to say and full of emotional baggage that doesn't really make a lot of sense to her. still, she takes his hand, watching him carefully as they head onto the floor. ] I'm afraid I don't remember my mother.

She was a very powerful queen. [Hook leads her into the dance, spinning her gracefully (perform 19).] Do you remember anyone?

[ she follows along just as deftly (perform 18), looking a bit pleased at the implication of her mother being so powerful, but her expression twists a bit at the question. ] Snow led me to believe it was common enough not to. [ she sounds almost a little accusatory like GDI SNOW THIS IS UR FAULT ]

[Oh my god Regina chill out.] It is common. I have been fortunate enough to keep some of mine, but there are always holes. I was simply curious how extensive yours are.

Is there something you're particularly eager for me to remember?

Nothing in particular. [Though there are some things he'd be happy if she didn't remember. Luckily, not remembering him or Cora takes care of that.] But I'm not the only one here from our world.

I already met Mr. Gold. He seemed to remember me, although his recollection certainly seemed skewed.

A lot of things about him are skewed. [He rolls his eyes a little because ugh Rumplestiltskin is the worst.] I take it you don't remember him, then?

Me neither. But after getting to know him here, I can't say I regret it. He's singularly unpleasant.
