The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Gold looks down at her briefly and then looks at the constellation that he really hadn't been truly seeing.] Ah yes. Wife of Cepheus, known for her arrogance and vanity, chained in the heavens for all eternity by Poseidon, after betraying her sister.

Better than the ones I used to tell myself. [ she turns to look at gold, as if really seeing him. it was hard to miss regina and equally hard to miss all the people that flocked to her. lila isn't stupid and she's annoyingly catching on to their crap the more it is heaped into the knighthood. ] You're from the same place as Emma, right?

The same drab little town. [with a hint of sarcasm, because he's been wondering how much of that is even true.] Why?

Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Snow White... [ in a look of expectant curiosity, her eyebrows lift like a question she's not actually going to ask. ]

What are you going on about, Ms. Zacharov?

[The only person he's even a little bit aware of is "Snow White" and that's supposed to be Mary Margaret and even he managed to push that out of his mind. It's amazing how easy one can be given to self-denial.]

I believe the title you're looking for is Sir, actually. [ like for fuck's sake she didn't get a battlefield promotion for nothing. the only other title she wants is boss, but that'll take more time. she's attached to sir for now. ]

Are you really suggesting that you're unaware you come from a place apparently populated by fairytale characters? [ her eyebrows lift even higher. she had been willing to give hook the benefit of the doubt, he had a hook, he was a pirate, they're obviously not known for their brains since raping and pillaging probably comes with a high chance of brain melting syphilis. /judges all pirate harshly. srynotsry. peter pan, maybe his parents just hated him that much at birth. but snow white? that was one step too far and too weirdly coincidental. hell, emma's dad's name is charming. what are all y'all on? don't ask why lila knows so many fairytales. ]

It's not that I'm unaware. I'm just choosing not to indulge. There's a great deal of things that don't make sense about Storybrooke, but, fortunately? They're in the past. What madness is left for any of us back there has no bearing on what any of us are right now. I'm a Knight of the Silver Dragon. What I was before then simply does not matter.

[Or so he's choosing to believe. As he promised Belle, he isn't going to look into it and he won't entertain it.] This is the only world I care about now.

Okay. That's fine. You're great at being a knight. [ she is actually very behind gold's idea to ignore the past, she's not that invested in his life tbh. he's kind of shady, but that's literally everyone she associates with so it doesn't bother her. faye thinks he is gr8, that's all that really matters to lila. ] I just want to know if Wonderland is real.

[ look at her, gold: tiny little speck of a thing, pretty silvery blonde curls, favorite color blue, delights in nightmares... of course she would want wonderland to be real. she could be the cheshire cat. ]

If it is, Lila, I don't remember it.

[But it's adorable that she asked, so he'll indulge one little bit of whimsy:] But if everything else is real? Why not that.

Do you think the memories the Veil takes away might actually still exist? Just... beyond where we can reach?

I'm not sure. I assume it's possible, but being able to interpret the dream might still be out of reach without the context. [ she's obviously thought about it. ] No one can really tell me if what I've seen is real or just what they imagine their past to be. Unless someone else can verify.

It's probably best left alone. Sometimes I think knowing too much about our pasts is just inviting trouble.

[ she hums thoughtfully, not entirely agreeing. she thinks some context could help a lot of people. (cough sylar cough) but whatever, it's his brain. doesn't mean she won't try to watch his dreams any time she touches him, but she's not going to bother putting work in for the rest of it. she doesn't care enough. ]

It's not as if we can ever go back. [There's a sad note to his tone as he adds that, and then he turns to go back to the party.. and probably straight to his room, rather than engage anymore tonight.] Enjoy the rest of your evening, Sir Zacharov.
