The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ Automatically, she reaches for reassurance, shaking her head but slowing the movement and stopping before her sentence finishes. She doesn't actually know. Her only understanding of Dean is jam-packed full of unflattering, reckless violence. It wouldn't surprise her if this were just one more hunt.

But it would surprise her if that being the case, Wynn let him through. ]

Maybe it's his way of giving you a chance.

Given that he must have talked about it to Wynn first, I hope so.

[He's really, really hoping for that. But he's also not going to get those hopes up too high. Maybe. Probably.

Mostly he's just still confused. Rose's assault of him didn't exactly help matters.]

I'm glad you're taking this so well. To be honest, I was a little worried when I heard Dean's name, but ... It seems like you're doing a lot better. [ Reaching out, she pats him on the arm. ] Things are already getting better, see? Being patient with him pays off.

It's not like he's going anywhere for the time being. That's something, at least.

[ Her eyebrows raise, mainly because Buffy doesn't spend enough time back at the castle to realize that not everyone in the world knows she's a big freak with dinosaur strength. ]

Not really the person you wanna invite physical violence from. Des could tell you all about it. Or Arthur. Or ... You know, this is getting to be a weirdly long list, and I swear it's not as bad as it sounds. Mostly.

Well, I did see you throw Dean across a hallway.

[He's just used to getting manhandles I guess shhh.]

[ Amusement crinkles the corners of her eyes, and she stops beside the bar, offering him a fond look. ]

And sweet.

[ After a beat, her gaze drops. Some of the light fades from her expression, and she turns towards the bar. She reaches out to grab a glass, fishing for a wine bottle. ]

[His grin widens at her compliment before his eyes drop briefly to the floor. Taking them has never been one of his strong points, and he hadn't really thought that would be her reaction.

Wine is definitely a good idea.]
