The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

He takes a breath through his nose, letting it out (will save 19), making an obvious effort to calm the fuck down. Maybe the old affectionate name had something to do with it.]

[He hesitates, watching his brother for a minute, trying to gauge what the even means to him.]

[His throat is suddenly dry, but he swallows anyway.

[There's a single shake of his head that answers that better than words could. Why do you think he hasn't given up either, despite all the fucking horrible things Dean's said to him.]

It's just...frustrating when you think no one's listening. Getting threatened with violence for daring to utter your name isn't great either.

[ that draws a dark, strained chuckle from him. ] Sounds like her. [ but then he clears his throat, clearly feeling like he's said his piece. ] Just. Give me some time.

[He's not saying no, though. He's also not saying yes, entirely.]

For what it's worth, I'm glad you decided to...do this.

You kiddin'? They gave me a freaking suit of armor. [ the usual humor has a dull forced edge to it, but there's... an attempt, clearly. ] Seemed worth it just for that.
