The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Oh my god Snow White you are such a sap. But as someone who has always found his ship as home, and who now finds anywhere Emma is to feel like home... Hook actually gets it.]

Aye, I think I know what you mean. I haven't much missed the Enchanted Forest since coming here.

[Her smile is sheepish in return, though she's glad he seems to understand where she's coming from, albeit curious as to who it is he might consider family here.]

I don't remember much of the Enchanted Forest, honestly.

Ah, well, then I doubt it'd feel much like home to you right now. [He tries to look encouraging.] I never made it to Storybrooke.

Seeing as when I look at you, I can't recall a Storybrooke name, I kind of assumed that.

[She still has no idea what to think of you Captain Hook.

Especially considering a certain detail that she just noticed.]

[This is fairytale small talk I guess.]

Aye. [He lifts his left hand and flexes it.] The war didn't precisely go my way, and Solace saw fit to fix me all the way when he healed me.

You fought in the war?

[Color her impressed. Points for Hook.]

Well, it's what I'm here for. I am a knight, after all. [No matter what he started as.]

Right, of course you are. Not every knight decided to go, though.

[Smoothly covers up that social faux pas.]

No, but I've always been a fair hand in battle [Or a fair hook] and they needed people to oversee the boats.

I'm sure you were a great asset. You wouldn't have been there had Wynn not believed in you.

[So she'll try to believe in you, too. Good thing she doesn't know about you and her daughter yet, though. :)]

[Yet. Because he and Emma are so subtle.]

Why weren't you there? Were you searching for a way to bring David back?

[He trusts there was good reason. This is Emma's mother, the renowned Snow White. But he does wonder still.]

I...no. I didn't know any of you were even here.

[Her lips press together, as the happiness seems to mostly vanish from her face.]

I was actually out on assignment.

Ah. [Well that got awkward.] I'm certain Emma is pleased you've returned. What were you doing?

I was finding and bringing back my new squire, actually.

Your new squire? Do tell.

[unlost]

I'm guessing you know her.

[Unless the Veil did a number on him, but that doesn't seem to be the case.]

It's Regina, actually.

[unhand]

Really? [Killian glances towards Regina again, raising an eyebrow.] I do hate to subtilize, but she is the Evil Queen. Why did you think that was a good idea?

She's not. Not as far as she knows.

[She glances at Regina, then back at Hook.]

All she knows is that she's a queen. This is a chance for her to start over. Doesn't everyone deserve that at least once?

[...yeah, he can't argue with that logic. He wouldn't have gotten very far if Wynn hadn't given him his second chance. Still, he frowns slightly.]

Emma doesn't like it.

[Snow's expression is calm but firm.]

She...doesn't have to. She just has to accept it.

[She sighs lightly, relenting a bit.]

I don't particularly like either, if I'm being really honest. But I'm going to do what's right, even if I don't necessarily enjoy it.

And if it turns out she can't be reformed? What then?

Then we'll deal with it. Wynn is aware of the situation.

[Only not probably as much as one would like considering Snow's incredibly patchy memory.]
