The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

In my nightie! [ that might have been loud. yeah, she just shouted IN MY NIGHTIE at the top of her lungs because ugh doctor. ]

Twelve years, Doctor. Then two more years. Then you said you'd take me to see the stars and acted like you haven't got to change the light on the TARDIS, Space Gandalf. Next thing I know I'm here, in my nightie, and you've scarpered! Again!

[ and she may be a bit cross because underneath that she's a bit abandoned, again, and some of the anger fades away until she's that little girl who waited so long for him. ] You promised, Raggedy Man.

[ There's young and then there's young, but oh he sees it now. Amy before all the mistakes he made. Amy when he could have got so many more things right. But he can get them right now, can't he? He can try and get them right. ]

Yes. Yes I do that sometimes. I do, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry Amelia. But I'm here now. I'm here and we'll make everything better. [ There's a bit more weight to his words, like maybe he's saying something a lot more important than what he's pretending to ]

I did promise. And I'm not going to let you down.

Better not. I've already found a cricket bat. [ she crosses her arms, discomfited with the emotions the doctor brings up in her just by existing. everything is so confusing and it's nice to have something she remembers, but it reminds her of things she doesn't remember. ]

Doctor. The crack in my wall. Does it have anything to do with this?

[ It shouldn't make him smile to hear her threat physical violence, but it does. Oh he's missed that. ]

No. No it doesn't. At least I don't think it does. [ But for all he knows it could have connections to the veil ]

But don't worry. I know you might be scared, and I know you'll never say you are. But it's okay. You're confused, I know that. That's okay too.

I'm not scared. [ it's automatic, the way she blurts it out in a disgruntled tone, tightening the way her arms sit across her chest, nose wrinkling in distaste. fear = weakness and amy pond is not weak, thank you very much. ]

[ it makes him smile, he knows her so well. he missed her, missed just about everything about her. ]

I know you are. But don't worry. We'll soon fix that.

[ her nose wrinkles, shut up you. but... s l o w l y, she relents. her arms uncross. even if her lips stay pressed in an irritated line, the glimmer of excitement sparks in her eyes. she holds out her hand, invitation. ]
