The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ Still caught off guard by the whole two hands thing, she doesn't expect him to go for both, so it startles her into glancing down for a moment. It disarms her, apparently, because she softens. ]

If she's wrong … If Regina does turn on all of us. [ She looks back up at him, searching. ] It'll crush her.

[unhand]

[He rubs his thumbs across her knuckles, watching her sympathetically.] Maybe she'll surprise you. She's not the first long shot Wynn's taken in. Remember when we first met here?

Yeah, well, last I checked, you weren't willing to curse an entire realm just to get back at one person.

[ But she takes his point—however begrudgingly. She drops her gaze, sighing softly. ]

I just don't want to see this end badly. Not when we still haven't made any headway with David.

[unhand]

Of course, I also wasn't capable.

[He nods, still watching her softly.]

Perhaps she'll be able to help. She may not have her memories, but if there's anyone who knows about curses... it's her.

I don't want her help.

[ well hello personal offense. ] Whose side are you on here?

Your side, love. Always. [He lets out a breath, looking over to where Regina is.] But you're not gonna be able to get her kicked out. Believe me, I tried when they brought Pan in, and if anyone deserved to never get a second chance, it's him. But it didn't work, and much as I hate to admit it, the castle's still standing. He hasn't been nearly as troublesome as I expected.

[He smiles softly at Emma.] And if Regina's the same, well, maybe you'll get back someone you love as well as someone you loathe. Perhaps it'd be worth it.

[uncurse]

Putting up with her doesn't have to mean trusting her.

[ It comes sharply, harshly. Even if she sees his points, Emma is far too stubborn to give way. Not when she's already dug her heels in. ]

I never said anything about trusting her. But you don't need to trust her to work with her. [He lifts a hand, touching her hair lightly.] You hate her that much?

[It's possible dancing and flirting with her was not his greatest move.]

She was the reason we were in the Enchanted Forest in the first place.

[ She jumps in readily, snapping. ]

The Dark Curse that took me from my family? That was hers. And then when I broke it, and Gold wanted to give her exactly what she deserved, we fell through that portal defending her. After everything she did, after she ruined our lives, tried to kill me.

And your mother brought her here? [He glances over towards Snow White like what are you thinking.]

My mother doesn't even remember that we got sent back. Maybe if she remembered seeing what happened to that land, she'd ...

[ No. Probably not. ]

How much does she remember? She seemed to recognize you at the ceremony.

But she remembers both her true identity and her life in Storybrooke?

[ She shrugs simply. ]
