The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Because Rose is a Wynn-Stan.] Cause he could probably tell you where she is seeing as, she didn't come to Andres with the rest of us. [A beat.] And he should know you're back.

[Rose would argue she was saying that for Wynn's sake but... She does realize what he's getting at (Wis 19) and is aware that she hadn't exactly been Miss Congeniality during their first meeting.]

Last time you saw me I was on the back of a really bad, really long day. [There's a moment of hesitation, lips pressed into a grim line before she continues. (WS 10)] Luthir, the Knight who was killed in New York? I am... was, his Squire. [A beat.] I was also part of the group of Knights who were in New York during the Shadowkind massacre.

[If he does a little math, all that happened while Elena was fleeing the Castle with Kyp.]

So, a whole lotta bad - and then I blow into town all 'Elena, Elena.' [ He gets it. ]

Pretty much. [There's a tiny flicker of something just at hearing Elena's name, though it's not clear if it's a flare of anger or maybe even hurt but Rose schools her expression back to neutral with a sweep of her hand as she tucks a lock of dark hair behind her ear. (WS 15).]

Trust me. If I really hated you I would have punched you in the face. [Even managing a wry, half grin. No bluff check needed. That part is 100% true. Just ask... Everyone Rose has ever disliked.]

[Rose had yelled at Myri. Myri. Even she knew that on an irrational rage scale, she'd been hitting an 11 that day.]

Yeah - [She shakes her head, a huff of laughter escaping though it's not exactly amusement.] I seem to have a thing with brothers right now.

I only met him tonight but he seems alright. [Her gaze slides back to Damon.] Any insider tips for getting him to do what I want?

With Stefan? [ Normally, he'd have a sarcastic remark, maybe real insight but - as he tries to grasp for specific memories but nothing stands out. He shakes his head, pointing upwards at the vagueness of the veil. ] I should.

[ Yes. ] That is one reason of several. [ Bluff (23). Not that he's experienced it, but Elena will be right, it's Stefan's love for his brother which will bring him back from the brink. But, yeah, that's like, a year past when he's from. ]

He did say it was one reason though and that's enough to make Rose think.]

What's it like? Having a brother I mean. [Oh gee I can't think of any reason why Rose would want to know the answer to that...]

[She, doesn't really seem to understand but at the same time, she's trying and her expression and tone both hint at an earnest desire to know how the whole, sibling thing works.

She hesitates at first, like she's trying to find a way to word her next question. (WS 11).]

If he ever like, betrayed you... I mean in a really, really big way... Do you think you could forgive him?

My, my, this corner of the room looks a lot like a shrink's office. [ This is not something he wants to discuss with anyone. Even someone he might be becoming friends with. ] Why all the b questions? Brothers, betrayal. Deep stuff.

[With a Nat 20 on her Will Save, Rose straightens and the serious edge that had been there a moment ago slips away as she reverts to a more casual, careless demeanor.]

Just a little research for my new Squire. [Said with a wink and a bluff check of 22.

Even if he bombs his Sense Motive, it wasn't exactly a great lie.]

[ Sense motive of 13. She's just as good of a liar. ] Maybe save it for him. After all, like you said, he's your new Squire.

Yeah but right now he thinks I'm all knowing. I figure it wouldn't hurt to let him keep on thinking that for a while.

[Keeping up the joke but as she drags her gaze away, she's back to her three point check however she only makes it as far as Sam, then Dean, gaze lingering on the latter for a long moment before she lets it fall away.]

So you're back... does that mean you're planning to stick around for a while?

[ Spot (25), he clocks all three points but says nothing. Oh. Dean. The racist. ] I just might. [ Yes. ]

Rose considers Damon for a long moment, like she's trying to make up her mind about him but before the silence can stretch too long, she finally nods.]
