The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Oh, hello Helen. And thank you, you look beautiful yourself.

[Her expression brightens as she catches the woman's eyes. It's 99% not forced.

It's been an interesting night.]

Better now to be home. I like to think you were there with us, in a sense. [Just sayin. She's well aware of your aim, girl. Maybe Helen tries to channel Snow White sometimes. It could happen.]

I was thinking about you all the entire time. I would have been there in a heartbeat if I could have.

[She could probably channel Helen from time to time too, okay.]

Oh, I know, my dear. Would have been happy to have you. But it seems you were busy finding yourself a squire instead. Quite the entrance she makes.

She's a little rough around the edges, but she's tenacious and very talented.

I just hope I can somehow...help her feel like she belongs.

[If she can do that, then she thinks the rest will take care of itself.]

[Helen doesn't think she knows a nicer person tbh.]

[Well, that grabs her attention.]

I take it you mean something more than the typical mentor responsibilities.

[She gives Helen a small smile and a nod before she gently takes her arm and starts walking towards a more secluded area of the ballroom.]

I know her from before all of this, as do a handful of others.

[Helen should probably already be aware that she's known as Snow White, so...feel free to decide if they delved into all of that or not?]

That's wonderful. [she pauses.] Isn't it?

[She gives Helen another smile, though this one is sad, and she shakes her head.]

No, I think it would be easier for her if no one knew her.

[A beat.]

She was not...well liked.

I see. But you believe she can do something to change those opinions within our organization?

With luck, they won't need to change for most people. No one here knows her. I think that's the first step.

[She'd comment on what Regina had done, but she...doesn't know that stuff personally.]

Besides, I think everyone deserves a second chance. Don't you?

Certainly- so long as they're willing to take the chance for what it is. And it can't hurt to have your faith behind her either. I'm afraid my newest squire may not be quick to accept my help on his path. I'm a bit concerned about where it may lead him.

She doesn't have any memories from home that I can tell. It's like she has a completely clean slate.

I just hope she doesn't somehow go down the same path.

[Because it's bad. Whatever it is, she knows that much. She wouldn't be The Evil Queen otherwise.]

Oh? I didn't realize you had a new one? Which one is he?

[Helen nods in agreement with Snow, understanding where those concerns come in. She knows, though, that if anyone can help to guide a lost soul? It's Snow White.]

Dean Winchester. [She says, pointing him out, across the room.] He was hired to help find Elena Gilbert earlier in the year. Apparently, he's been swayed to join our cause.

[Snow follows Helen's gesture, spotting the rather handsome man, regarding him thoughtfully.]

You're afraid he's not going to be sympathetic to some of our members?

[daredtobelieve]

That, and he's been on his own for some time, from what I've gathered. I don't know if I would really consider him a... team player. [Not that it was a requirement with their group. There were plenty of those who didn't get along well with others. Helen just preferred to see her squires well integrated.]

Well, hopefully he finds his place to belong here, too. If there's anywhere good for that, it's here.

I can do the same with your squire, then. Fair trade. [Aw friends.] Who knows? Maybe between the two of us, we'll all come out unscathed.
