The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

And yeah, well, got to be better than what I was doing before.

Managed a bar on Andres. Not really what I wanted to end up doing but hey, that's how it goes, right?

And what is it that you wanted to end up doing? Being a knight?

[ he laughs, because that's about as far away from anything he ever imagined. ]

Can't say I did, no. Actually I'm a pianist. Pretty fucking good one, too.

So what inspired you to join, then? Planning to use your music to fight our enemies?

[ he laughs a little but shakes his head. ]

Nah man. Nice as that sounds. Just needed a bit of direction, you know? Looks like these guys have got that.

It's not unheard of, actually. There are some bards whose music has an almost magical quality.

[A beat.]

Piano's a bit hard to take into battle, though. They're rather large, aren't they?

You know, good as I am, can't say it's ever been called magic.

[ He thinks about it. ]

Mind you, it's magicked a few bras onto the floor before now. [ He smirks. ]Well you could take a keyboard but not sure it'd have the same impact, you know?

Magical indeed, but not particularly useful in a combat situation, all things considered.

Yeah probably not. I'll stick to the concert hall. Well, would if I could get any work. Guess there's not much call for that around here, huh?

We do tend to have a lot of parties. I'm sure people would be amenable to live music.
