The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[She reaches forward, placing a gentle hand on the back of his head so that she can pull him down (because he's taller than her now ;;) and give him a kiss on the forehead.]

I won't let you down, Henry.

[ After she kisses his forehead, his arms wrap tightly around her again for just a moment. ]

You never will. And I won't let you down.

[ He smiles softly. ]

We make a good team.

[She pulls back a bit to look into his face, gently brushing some hair out of his eyes.]

That we do.

[ It reminds him of being a kid again when she does that, and he smiles softly. Then something shifts, a little excitement in his eyes to make up for the uncertainty of his mom being here and not remembering him. ]

I went on my first mission. I was on a team helping Hasmed recover some weapons, it was...intense. But I got promoted and I got to pick my sect, so I'm with Dragon's Tongue now. [ He grins at her. ]

[The happiness on her face is the...most obvious thing in the world.]

I could not be prouder of you, Henry. And lucky me, I get to have you in my sect.

[ He's been pretty thrilled about that aspect of it, too. Getting to stick close to one of his family members, at least. ]

Maybe we'll get to go on a mission together soon.

[ Whereas some people his age might be eager to show off, he's more just eager to show her he can help now. ]

We can only hope. Sadly, Wynn's responsible for those decisions.

[Because Snow would certainly like to see how he handles things, not to mention...keeping an eye on him.]

[ He's thinking the same thing about her, of course. He can't help it. ]

We could at least train together.

Of course we can. We can do all sorts of things together now that I'm here.

[She fully intended to take advantage. Hopefully Emma was ready for family time because she was going to force the issue.]

Maybe we can train with Emma, too. And...try to just hang out together? I think she's not sure what to make of me sometimes. [ He smirks a little, because it's okay, he gets why she would be so put off by his presence sometimes. ]

[She grins warmly.]

If she thinks she's going to get out of family dinners at least once a week, she has another thing coming.

[ He smirks, then reaches out to hug her again. When he pulls back, looks around the room. ]

I was gonna go check in with some friends, but I'll see you really soon. I'm glad you're here, Grams.

[ And he'll probably try to talk to Regina. But not...tell her anything, of course. ]

[She puts a gentle hand behind the back of his head, tugging him gently downwards so she can kiss his cheek.]
