The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[to be honest. he sort of... zoned out there for a second. also most of his skeleton is metal and a good portion of his nerves are wired now, so... yeeah.]

Yeah. [he chuckles awkwardly, scratching at his neck.] I sure do. [he pulls his hand away from his neck to give it a long, hard look that seems to suggest it has betrayed him in some way.]

[Sense motive 11, he probably realizes something wrong with Rocket's expression, but he is not an expert in robo-animal sociology.] What? Something wrong with your hand? Doesn't remember the last time you held a controller? [Yup, he was talking about gaming console controller.]

A what?. [He flies REAL spaceships and fires REAL guns, but okay he would probably be all over video games. His ability to trash talk knows no limits.]

Controller. Gaming controller. What? You never touch a controller before? [His face cringes, showing disbelief like somehow he is seeing a talking raccoon. Oh, wait! He actually is.

He knows that Rocket probably came from weird surrealist world, but seriously? If you can handle an auto-firing gun, you know how to handle a controller.] Don't tell me you never played video games before.

Yeah, 'cause I had a lot of time for that with my busy schedule of runnin' from the law, drinkin', gamblin', and takin' bounties. [and he also doesn't really remember if he has or not.] I can do the real thing- why do I need some phony simulation?

[Oh... Not a really a good idea to call his favorite thing "some phony simulation." Still, it would be silly to get angry at a talking raccoon. (will 10)] Hey! Watch it! I shoot enough people in real life and I still play Battlefield. They're different, games are made with extra fun factor, they emulate real-life cases with more whoosh-es and bangs. Minimum effort, extra blast. I like smashing heads in real life, but games give me the chance to smash lots more heads and without any consequent and much efforts.

The only people who would say games are phonies are the ones who never play them. That's it! I'm taking you to the rec center, right now. I'm gonna teach you the fun of slaying dragons and building empires with just your fingers.

[Rocket squints at him with mild suspicion, but the idea of doing all those things without any consequences is appealing. And it's not like he really has much else better to do than build bombs and drink.

This does not mean he's going to take being schooled lightly.]

[He takes Rocket to the recreation center and boots up Halo. Enjoy blasting up aliens with lasers and bombs.]
