Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

The Knight's new section head, Wynn, and their mentor Knight wait up at the front of the room for their approach, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

Oh... oh. Uhm... I mean there's nothing wrong with that. But kissing shouldn't just be for some weird tradition. It should be because you want to kiss someone.

Well, er, unfortunately, opportunities for... that kind of kissing ... have been less plentiful.

Really? [genuine shock there.] I mean...

[Just lets that trail off because there's really nowhere for her to recover without admitting that she uh- thinks there would be plenty of opportunities for someone like him to get kissed.]

[ his eyebrows shoot up as he thinks about what she might be implying ] I, er, didn't meet a lot of girls before I came here.

Too busy with your studies? I'm sure that's all it was. I mean- unless you lived in some sort of all boy boarding school kind of thing? Do they even have boarding school in the Shadow World? Maybe that's just a here thing. But anyway- I mean, that's probably all it was. Because you seem really focused on doing the whole... elder druid thing.

...Which is great! I think it's awesome that you already know what you want. And I mean, it's going to make things way easier for you later on, probably. Ducks in a row and everything.

My studies were very private. I more or less lived in the archival library that my mother helped tend. I was its only real student.

[She awkwardly tucks her hair behind her ear.]

[ he smiles shyly, looking at her a moment, before glancing down, scratching the back of his head ] ... I imagine so, yes.

[She just sort of shifts from one foot to another, like she's got something to say but not sure how to say it. HOW DOES SHE BOY? This is why she needed Oz to just be super nonchalant about leading her through this shit.]
