Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

The Knight's new section head, Wynn, and their mentor Knight wait up at the front of the room for their approach, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

"Please kneel."

We should probably move out of the dancing area... [ and idk casually make out somewhere else. jk, she just wants to hang. actually, speaking of-- ] Actually, come with me.

[ she takes a firm step back and holds out her hand. adventure awaits, sir! ]

[He gives her a curious look, but just smiles and takes her hand.]

Can't think of anything more important.

Good. [ AND SHE DRAGS HIM OUT OF THE ROOM. and down the hall. and down another hall. and down some other hall. there are halls. they're going down a few. ]

[Such hall. Many surprise.]

So... do I get a hint?

[theminotaur]

We're going to the movie theater. [ not a hint, so much as an answer. ]

Oh. Well, that's cool. [pause] Why?

[theminotaur]

Your knighting present. [ which is... kind of a lie. (bluff 17) technically his present is in her pocket, but she decided it was too dumb and isn't going to give it to him. so she made up a new one on the fly. ]

[His sense motive sucked. He's clueless. So canon.]

Is it... a movie makeout session? Because I am so down for that.

[theminotaur]

It's a movie. [ dork, she leads them into the theater and releases his hand to shoo him towards the seats so she can set up the movie in peace. ] If you pick a crappy seat, I'm going to reneg this present.

[he chooses dead center, because in a completely empty theater that obviously makes the most sense.]

If you think this seat sucks, we can't be friends.

It's perfect! [ and to prove it, the screen hums to life and a familiar opening sequence starts. neither of them are old enough to have seen it on the big screen.

she's so glad she found this during her and alex's burn notice binge. ]

[He should have figured it out, probably, but as the opening sequence starts up, Stiles' eyes just go wide as saucers.]

Holy shit.

[ abigail is highly pleased with this reaction and she slides into the seat next to him a few moments later, tucking her hair behind her ear absently and leaning over to whisper: ] Surprise.

[Grinning like an idiot, he turns and captures her mouth in a quick kiss.]

You're the best.

[theminotaur]

[ she's a little surprised by the casualness, but she smiles to herself, ducking her head. ] I know.

[She'll be in for a treat with him as the movie continues, listening to him repeat half the lines in various impersonations of the character voices. You're welcome.]

[ it's hilarious tbh. and she's actualy pretty impressed with how well he knows the movie. she personally doesn't pay much attention, but eventually she shifts to rest her head against his shoulder. ]

[if it was any other movie, he might try to make a move to make out with her, but this is super serious business to make sure she watches evERY LAST SECOND.]

[ once it ends, she straightens up a little bit. ] You're real into that movie, aren't you?

It's a cinematic masterpiece. [dead. fucking. serious.]

[theminotaur]

[ she rolls her eyes slightly. giiiirl, you need jesus. ] Okay.
