[ A few weeks into October, Wynn sends a message back to the castle asking Snow and Regina to make their way to the Isle, saying he has a small matter that bears investigation. When they arrive at the castle, they're ushered by Woodhouse to a small parlor where he's waiting... And moments later, their other mission partner arrives. :D ]

Not all of them. There was a casualty in the last, a man from the Shadow World with no family.

There were several witnesses who noticed a strange figure lurking around while the home burned. Two of them attempted to give chase to the suspect, although when they came close, they report that the mysterious figure stopped, started to turn towards them, and then they were both blown backwards by staggering pain that caused them to collapse to the ground. By the time they recovered, the suspect was gone. They couldn't identify anything about their appearance, not even their gender. Whoever it was wore a hood that obscured their identity.

[ With a wis of 16, emma realizes that this description is one she's heard before—particularly coming from a figure. Her eyes flicker with recognition, and she glances around at Snow and Regina to see if they sport similar looks. It's only a moment later that she realizes they don't remember enough for her expectation to be reasonable. ]

And you're hoping that we'll be able to discover their identity and figure out why they're trying to raze the village?

If that's even what they're attempting to do in the first place. Things are not always what they appear to be.

There's been another incident. A villager who was... well. They claim to have come upon a similar figure and found themselves turned into... slime.

I imagine that will make for a fascinating interrogation.

So, it's possible that whoever is responsible isn't trying to be malicious? Maybe their abilities have simply gotten out of their control?

[She's not a magic user. She has no idea if that's even a thing.]

More likely, it's a trap. They have to know the island is swarming with Knights.

We won't know until we find him.

Where can we find the one who got de-slimed?
