after-party ♔

♬ Jeux d'eau - Ravel
WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missionsooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || Mar 1st, 2013, 6:00PM
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

You know, champagne's not for everyone. You might want to stick to water tonight.
[Her voice drips with false sweetness and she doesn't even bother trying to hide her amusement.]
no subject
Well. Neither is that hairstyle and yet I see you're still giving it your best try.
[Slightly less sweet and just a touch more; do you really want to play this game with me. Not that there's anything wrong with her hair. Of course the bitch had to be flawless.]

Let's get something straight, new girl... I'm not someone you want to mess with.
no subject
We did say almost though and with a Nat 20 intimidation check, you can bet that the Dhampir came back swinging, never one to let some idle threat slide, going so far as to take a step closer to the other girl.]
No, you get something straight. I've known yappy dogs with more bite than you, so unless you want to find out how that dress of yours would look in red... I suggest you think long and hard about the next words that come out of your mouth.
[You know that saying, violence is never the answer? Well no neither does Rose.]
no subject
Is this the part where I'm supposed to be scared? [She leans in and lowers her voice to a dangerous low tone.] You have no idea what I'm capable of.
no subject
No. This is the part, where you decide if you're ready for that nose job or not.
[Brow raised, perhaps underestimating the girl before her but in Rose's mind? What was she going to do? Snark her to death?]
I've broken more for less than you're doing right now. [Sounding, if anything, bored.]
no subject
[She really shouldn't be doing this... But the rules never really mattered much to Faye. Each little comment that Rose makes only pushes her anger closer to the brink. Her hands clench and unclench, working in time with her jaw. Her mouth moves, silent words forming over and over until they are finally loud enough to be heard.]
Burn bright. Ignite.
[From her fingertips, flames leap towards the other girl's dress, causing 4 points of damage. A reflex save of 15 or higher will cause her to only take half of that. Either way, she may be a bit singed.]
no subject
If it weren't for her Dhampir quick reflexes (and a Nat 20 on reflex save paired with her Evasion talent) the fire that leapt towards her would have surely hit its mark, Rose not so shocked by what had happened as one might expect - she may have had some experience with fire magic in her past.
It takes all but a second for Rose to recover and shock turns into anger, an almost unnatural kind of rage that flares in her chest and those that had the ability to see Auras would notice a black ring that ripped and flared around Roses in the milliseconds before she retaliated.
Without word of warning, the Dhampir pulled her fist back and swung straight at the face of the other girl and with a Nat 20 Atk and a Dmg of 11, it could be said that Faye should have heeded Rose's warning.]
no subject
Something like a fist flying for her face.
She stumbles back, nose gushing blood instantly. Her vision clouds from the pain and her ears are ringing from the force of the blow. Despite her pride, she cannot help but cry out in pain, because no matter how much of a bad ass you think you are... when you take a punch like that to the face, you're going to need a minute.]
no subject
Rose knew from experience - you'd be surprised how many formal events she's ended with the breaking of a nose - that hands would be closing around her any second as she had the sense to put her own up in seeming surrender, still watching the other girl carefully.]
Bitch tried to set me on fire.
[As if that would somehow get her out of trouble for what she'd just done.]
no subject
Faye! New girl! Not cool! Stop fighting!
no subject
[That was aimed at Rose, Andie. Not you.
The name calling is only going to escalate. Also Faye's nose continues to gush blood, so she's not really going after her. Thank goodness she has enough self preservation for that.]
no subject
[The Dhampir doing her best attempt at appearing non-threatening, which would be easier to sell if there wasn't blood gushing out of the one she'd called Faye's nose.]
This? This is teaching.
[Those last words aimed at Faye, not so much as a hint of remorse in her voice or expression.]

Unfortunately, there is really no dignified way to leave the room while your nose is steadily bleeding.]
no subject
[Of course Rose was twisting the situation to paint herself in a better light.]
Plus I stopped didn't I? I could have gotten in at least a few punches before you came over but I didn't.
[Yes. Rose legitimately thinks that makes what she did okay.]

no subject
Fine, alright. Whatever. I promise this won't happen again.
[And by this Rose really means the part where she got caught.]
Does... that mean I can go? [Cause if so? This is way better than the Academy.]
no subject
Sure?
