The Knights split up, Tia taking Rose, Dimitri, and Amrita in the rented vehicle towards two of the more distant sites from the hotel, while Eric leads Aurelius and Lila through the back alleys of the city to somewhere nearby. It's late by now, and Chicago is alive with the sights and sounds of nighttime in the distance. A light rain falls, dripping off the overhangs of the roofs above and pooling against the sidewalks.

[ with their new "friend" dean, eric, aurelius, and the others slip out of the bar heading in the direction tia and amrita had gone to investigate... which is when they see her, running towards them across the street. ]

[Dimitri is hanging up his phone as he makes his way over, long legs making long strides.]

What happened?

[ It's a relief to finally be able to stop, and Amrita takes a moment to just catch her breath. ]

We found a body, but we weren't alone, there were others there... I never saw them, and when Tia told me to go I jumped through a window and just took off. I don't know what's happened to her but we have to do something.

[ eric looks completely taken aback. and... judgmental. omg someone shoot him. ] You left her there?

[ Boy, she is this close to ripping your throat out right now. ]

[Not everyone knows the way to funky town, so while Lila's delivery is a little grumpy -- don't yell at her dad! -- she makes a pretty good, bitchy, point.]

[ Amrita is tempted to point out that lady, she just told you guys where to go so you could maybe move faster than her exhausted ass, but she skips it in favor of just taking off at a run again. Keep up, guys. ]

[Dimitri takes off after her, glancing over his shoulder to make sure the others are following, having no trouble keeping a good pace. (Con 18)]

[ as they reach the alleyway bordering the warehouse, it doesn't take much of a spot check to notice a crate go SMASHING through a window further down. aurelius gapes. ] Is it... the monster?

[Rose's feet bite at the heels of Amrita (Con 21), stake already in hand. A gun may have been more appropriate but old habits die hard.]

Actually it's a crate.

[Well don't worry, Lila has your gun needs covered, okay. Which is probably the least comforting thing in the world to anyone that hasn't seen her shoot, honestly. Actually, real talk, her gleeful expression whilst holding her gun and bouncing up beside them is probably the least comforting thing. Tiny little murderess has gotta get her kicks somehow.

I hope the plan doesn't involve explaining import and export supplies to super nerd over here. [Someone tell her she can shoot things, please. She is rapidly forming a plan -- well, editing one for location -- but she looks between Eric and Dean like, you're the professionals. Do something professional.]

[Dimitri wordless moves toward the direction of the now broken window, moving to stand flush against the wall and signaling for other to take positions near any other points of entry nearby, to provide adequate back up for everyone involved.

Then he lean slightly sideways so that he can look into the building. [Spot 15, Listen 17]]

[ eric moves to take point across from dimitri on the other side of the door, so dean is stuck moving towards where he hopes he can get a good look in that window... but not so much. he shoots an annoyed glance at dimitri. ] Well?

[telekinect]

[ dimitri gets a clear line of sight into the warehouse with his peek... and even in the darkness, he has the ability to see tia standing in the middle of the floor her expression hard but unharried, as a figure is slammed around the room as if lifted by some invisible hand and chucked into a stack of crates. ]

[It's all he says before he maneuvers his way through the broken window into the room, though he apparently is a klutz and he cuts himself on some of the broken shards of glass as he does so oops (climb 8 wow)]

[Hanging back at rear guard, Rose is keeping an eye on the alleyway to make sure they don't have any surprise guests coming up behind them and waits for the coast to be clear for her to follow the others into the fray.]

[Dimitri you're supposed to be impressive... SOMEONE ISN'T IMPRESSED. She moves forward quietly (move silently 18) and instead of boosting herself through the window, because she doesn't have her grappling hook handy and she is short, she tries the door.]

[ the door opens readily for lila, and dean wastes no time in moving into the frame and letting off a shot at the figure being hurtled around in the air. (and he rolled an 18 and i haven't done his stats yet but it's dean so it'll be +a million. SO A HIT. A MOST PALPABLE HIT.)

blood spurts out from a wound and tia drops her attacker from the hold, where he slumps into a bunch of boxes. ]

[Wow, why does everybody have to hate on Dimitri today.

He moves toward the attacker to see if he's still alive, ready to grapple him if he moves in any kind of suspicious way (which would be an atk roll of 22, str 20 total if necessary).]

[ Am's been staying out of the fight, letting the people who actually know what they're doing in a situation like this handle it, and she intends to keep it that way.

The relief she feels when hearing that Tia still lives is just about the most intense emotion she's felt for as long as she can remember. ]

[Since there isn't any reason to be quiet any longer, Lila steps through the door and glances around, eyes lighting on the Knight.] Is it just... him, Tia?

[telekinection]

Just him. [ she sends a reassuring wave of mental emotion in amritas direction. ] Careful, Dimitri. He's still conscious. [ and indeed there's a small amount of rustling within the boxes as the creature struggles to sit, face still half obscured by his hair. A spot check of 18+ will note a vaguely familiar bit of tattoo half poking out from his sleeve. A low growl sounds from his throat. ]

[There's a subtle nod of his head as he proceeds to move toward the individual, taking note of the tattoo easily (spot 28).]

Put your hands on your head and don't make any sudden movements, or we will be forced to subdue you.

[But who is he kidding. They're probably have to anyway, at some point. He'd just rather do it without having to knock him completely out first. Unconscious people can't talk, after all.]
