[After convincing Wynn she was needed in Chicago to assist Finnick and the rest of the group, Francesca tracks Christos down to fill him in. But tbh its mostly just because she likes his face and wants to say goodbye.

So wherever she finds him, she politely makes her presence known and greets him with a little smile.]

[ the regular place indeed. he looks up immediately, and then begins to finish off what he was doing, stacking his papers to the side one at a time. ] Ah.

I bloody well hope you have some good news for me. [ but the grouchy statement lacks the bite that would imply there's something really amiss for him to be complaining about. he's just bad at saying hello. ]

[Her smile barely falters as she steps into the room at his characteristically unorthodox invitation. She's still reveling this impassioned determination from her phone call with Finnick. She's not entirely sure why it lead her here, but it seemed logical at the time, if emotions could ever be such a thing.] Well, its not bad news.

[She takes a chair across from him, waiting for him to finish his task.] Rough day?

He'd never admit it but this television business has Wynn entirely on edge. Which, of course, ends up trickling down to some of us.

[ wow he really is bad at this today 8( it takes her a moment to realize that wasn't some passive aggressive jab at her. ] Then perhaps I come bearing better news than I thought. I just spoke to Wynn about all this, actually.

You did, did you? [ his head comes up, all interest now ] Concerning what?

Sending me to Chicago. I requested it.

You must have been feeling particularly masochistic, given the mess they've gotten themselves into.

I prefer empathetic. [ and optimistic, but she knows he'd scoff at that. ] Besides, they're going to need help cleaning this up.

I suppose dumping them all in the Chicago River is out.

[ she smirks despite herself. ] Not unless we want more publicity.

That's part of the reason I'm going, and the entire reason I asked to be sent in the first place. Some of them will have a harder time finagling their way out of the spotlight.

If you don't let them struggle their way out of it, how will they ever learn how foolish it was to get themselves into such a position in the first place?

How are they supposed to know how to get out of it, if no one shows them?

[ diplomacy check (with charm because she's just generally confident today, and sometimes her powers get away from her >.>) of 53 ] Well, I did learn from the best. [ and a 100% sincere smile ]

[ he makes a humored 'hmm' noise, obviously trying really hard not to take her compliment to heart and failing. shh. ] When do you intend to leave?

[ now she can't stop smiling but she does manage to reel it in a little as she answers. ] Today, probably. Who knows how long it will take me to get through airport security.

Not all of us have that luxury. [ of being amazing pilots. but the amazing part should be well enough conveyed by the expression on her face. this awesome diplomacy check is no joke. its straight from the heart. ]

[ he gets a sort of stupidly pleased look on his face, a small smile creeping up in response to the unspoken flattery. ] Yes, well...

[ ahem ] So you'll be gone until the trial ends, I take it.

she's terrible at restraining her emotions right now (crit fail will save), thanks to finnick, and coming here in the aftermath of all that was probably the worst decision ever. but right it now if feels like the best decision ever, so she can (and probably will) regret it later.

instead she's just sitting across from him, feeling quite satisfied with his reaction, and looking ridiculously enamored. its pathetic that's all it took to bring her to this. but this is exactly why you don't charm people you're actually attracted to - it has a ricochet effect. ]

Until my job is done, at least. I'm not sure how long it will take. [ she tries to sound nonchalant, but it could take a long time and she will miss him 8( and she's not really capable of hiding any of those feeling right now. ]

I'll be leaving on my own mission shortly. Some political nonsense in France. Right up your alley. [ there are potential implications there that may or may not be coincidental. :| ]

[ she perks up at that. ] I do keep rather lenient consultation hours, if you find yourself in need of another opinion. [ she hesitates for a moment, but timidly tags on: ] You should call me, if you get a chance.

Perhaps I will. [ and then he looks away, shrugging ] Assuming the problem can't be solved easily.

Right. [ and even if he doesn't use that excuse, she has another one. ] I can keep you updated on my progress, too, if you'd like.

[ it feels strange to leave out the real reason she's going, even if she doesn't need to share it with him. but she wouldn't want him to think she was purposefully keeping it from him. ] I'm going because Finnick asked me to help him. The rest was just... an excuse, really, to make sure Wynn would let me leave for such an extended period of time.

Finnick? [ displeasure darts across his features for the briefest span of a moment ] Our resident teen idol? [ it's pretty clear from the derision there what he makes of finnick's 'undercover' lifestyle ]
