The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Andie giggles. She doesn't have a plate of food, but only because she tends to finish off the food faster than it can get to the plate. But she finds his attempts to eat and dance charming, so she claps.]

That's a new twist on dinner and dancing!

[Turning towards the clapping, Stiles just grins.]

What can I say? I'm an innovator!

[She giggles and vanishes, then comes back with her own plate of food. Look at her patience. She managed to keep it all uneaten. Then she joins in his awesome dancing (dance 10) with her own plate of food. Except hers lasts about forty five seconds before her plate's empty. Well, she tried!]

Whoa... [Sorry, Stiles is distracted by whatever the fuck just happened.]

How'd you do that?

Hawngh... [She pauses, swallows, resumes.] How'd I do what?

You're... [words stiles. use your words.] fast!

Oh! Well, yeah. [She blurs away again, stashing the plate somewhere, then slows down enough for Stiles to be able to see her going around in a super fast circle.] Sorta my thing. Slowing down's the tricky part.

[He tries to follow her but he gets a little dizzy.]

So is that just a thing for you? Or did you get mauled by a radioactive cheetah?

Do I look mauled? [TREAD CAREFULLY. She wrinkles her nose.] Plus, I'm way faster than a plain old cheetah. Nah, this runs in my family.

Faster than texting! [A beat.] Hard to say an exact number. When I really push it I can beat sound.

Damn. That's fast. I bet that's crazy helpful with this knight business. Get in, get out- never saw you coming.

[She nods, fast enough that her head blurs.]

Yeah, it’s pretty great! I’ve been working on getting better at sneaky stuff.

Oh? Can I see? [actual eager beaver. he just likes all this crazy knightly stuff.]

Wouldn't be all that sneaky if you could, right?

[She zips away, making a bit more effort not to be obvious about her movements (move silently 14, hide 25) and returns with more food.]

Okay, that is just awesome. Seriously. I would love to be able to do that.

[She shrugs, but she's smirking too much to really come off as modest.]

Dancing and eating? [There is no judgment in her tone. That's awesome.]

But! At the same time. [It's pretty cool.]

Some would argue about my success rate at maintaining both, but... Yeah, it's pretty impressive. Still think you're speed definitely wins on the cool factor, though.
