In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

[ tia comes back to... also make herself a drink and frowns at the largely empty shelf. ] That helping?

It wasn't all me. [He shoots a glare back in Dean's general direction.] Rose's friend makes Finnick look sober.

[telekinection]

I wasn't accusing. You're not the only one who needs a lift.

[bigbad]

Not that these bottles'll help much with that. [He lifts the tiny airplane bottle and shakes his head.] Especially not with my constitution.

[telekinection]

I guess it's the thought that counts.

[bigbad]

Better than doing nothing. [Not much better, but at least it's something else to think about. He stirs his drink and sniffs at it.] Should've started spiking my blood a long time ago. Makes feeding much more fun.

[telekinect]

What kind of blood is it?

[bigbad]

A, if my tastebuds are right. [A beat.] Or wait, did you mean what's it come from?

[telekinection]

The latter.

[bigbad]

Oh. Cow's blood. Usually it's that or pig.

[telekinect]

Does it... taste much different?

[bigbad]

Well, yeah. They're completely different flavors. Don't humans think different animals taste different?

[telekinect]

Good point. I suppose I never thought about it that way. Not that I've thought about it often.

[bigbad]

Well, I'll admit. Human food's a lot more varied. Especially since it's not like I can get all that many different kinds of blood. Anything more exotic than goat's right out.

[telekinection]

I don't know. We do tend to slaughter our share of monsters who might not miss it.

[bigbad]

[He makes a face.] Some've them are slimy.

[telekinect]

Sounds... appetizing.

[bigbad]

Yeah. I'll stick with adding spices and stuff. Safer, you know?

[telekinection]

I feel very informed.
