In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

[ it's rare to really see wynn very angry, but anyone who runs across him after he receives his phone call from rose and speaks with edain and adam gatewood will get a real glimpse of it. his shoulders are tense, his gait determined and quick as he strides down the hallway, giving orders to all those knights who he comes across. jack walks briskly at his side, along with lis'sa and dovan. ]

I want every available Knight to grab a vehicle and comb the roads. Head to London, stake the airport. They're able to change what they look like - they could be anywhere. Sir Trinall, get the Hoard to run a trace on Sir Gilbert's phone immediately. Sir Ironsides, get your trackers on locating that car.

[ word will spread like wildfire through the castle, so feel free to either tag running across wynn and all this, or making threads with other characters to leap into action. ]

[ tia looks away at the sound of sirens, shaking her head. ] We should get off the street before the police start asking too many questions of us.

Questions about a man riding a unicorn and a street full of unconscious people wrapped up in vines? [ Yup, the new guy is still here, and he looks around with open hands at the scene in the street. Just a typical Manhattan morning, nightmarish commute and all. ] Can't imagine where they'd even start.

[Spike claps the new guy on the shoulder. His spirits are probably higher than they should be, considering all the deaths.]

Sorry about bumping into you earlier, mate.

[He did promise. But as he looks around, the high he always gets from violence fades. This was not a victory. Too many people died for it to be anything but tragic.]

[Myri is exhausted. All the adrenaline from trying to keep people from dying is wearing off and leaving her only with the grief of knowing that there were many that they couldn't save. She gathers with the others and nods at Tia's instruction.]

[ francesca is one of the first to gather a team, as this is of great importance to her, both personally and professionally. she's basically just looking for volunteers, but familiar faces are even better. she's aware time is of the essence, so once she gathers up han, helen, and alanna, she steers them toward the garage, grabbing the keys to an SUV type vehicle on the way.

her heels click against the cement as she leads the group outside, pulling her sunglasses down over her eyes (night or day, it'd be the same). she's planning on driving, unless someone argues otherwise. ] Now would be a good time to start brainstorming where we should look first.

I only spoke to the creature once. I can't say I'm well-versed in its motives, but it did work with our enemies once before, did it not?

[ alanna is charging after, fastening a short sword around her hip. ]

Perhaps an answer can be found in that.

[Helen is worried sick, to be completely honest. While she's heard the whispers that Elena was the one who set Kyp free, she's struggling to believe it. It's entirely possible that the girl had fooled her in their meetings, but Helen's gut tells her that Elena must have had a reason- or worse, she might have been coerced in some way.]

Unfortunately, the few times I've spoken with her, she never gave me much indication of places she might frequent.

[People don't really advertise the local venues for doppelgangers anonymous. She glances at Alanna.]

You may be right. We may have more luck trying to obtain information from less seemly sources.

They'll probably be trying to leave the pl--country. Least til the heat dies down. [A beat.] Then again, they can look like anybody. Maybe they won't bother.

[Han wants to drive, but he's not bothering to say anything about it for now. He's busy trying to strategize.]

[ vi looks up from the doorway and dispels the entangles, so hopefully they'd gotten to all those people already. she scoops up finnick's stuff and hugs it like a teddy bear. ]

You should come with us. [ he's pragmatic and took direction well, he didn't seem overwhelmed by their horrifyingly crazy lives and he seemed to work well under pressure. basically, he's useful and if they're at war, they need useful people. ] And Archer? Dismount Nick, please.

Make sure to keep your phone close by, in case Lis'sa is able to send word about any phone or car traces. [ as they reach the garage, she pushes the unlock button on the key remote, and it's easy to locate the correct vehicle by its flashing lights ]

The only leads we have on the enemy is what's happening on Andres, and the mission group sent to New York yesterday. Otherwise I'm not really sure how to obtain such information. [ she also feels the need to verbalize what helen is thinking ] I'm not sure I can imagine Elena helping the enemy of her own free will.

No, but she was nearly on the verge of feeling like an outsider in our own walls. She's young and impressionable and hurting because she's not sure what to make of finding out just what she is.

[Helen shakes her head as she walks.]

I don't know what happened that brought us to this point, but I can only imagine her doing this if she was forced or if she thought it might get her some of the answers she so desperately needs.

[finnick has ... saved all the people he can pretty much, so now he's rejoining the group and taking back his shirt from vi. to use as a towel.] Has he ... how long has he been riding Nick? [da fuck?]

She might be young and impressionable, but he knows what he's doing. They won't be dumb enough to keep the phone and the car. Trust me, by the time we get the traces, they'll be long gone. [Speaking as an old pirate who's had to escape planets before. First rule: ditch anything that can be tracked.] Worse, they'll probably take further from the trail. Let other people follow those trails.

What about Crombe? He has some ties to them, as well, and he was just in London a few hours ago. Perhaps there was a reason they chose to make their escape now. Maybe the have some sort of rendezvous point.

All good, yeah? [ It's not actually a question and he gives Spike a crooked smile and an upwards jerk of his chin to go with it, and then arches a brow at Vi. ] Come with you where? [ Wait, wait. He turns to Finnick, arches that brow even higher. ] Nick? The unicorn's name is Nick? Please tell me that's short for something besides Nicholas.

Now, there's an idea. Do we know where the convention speakers were staying?

I can call Jeanne. [ she already has her phone out. ] She's likely to have a full roster, seeing as she's a presenter herself.

[ francesca nods, opening the driver side door and climbing in. she starts the car up as she waits for everyone else to pile in. ]

[Hook and Thoster are drinking when they get the call. Unfortunately, as neither of them can drive and their boats won't be all that useful for searching the city, they need to find a driver. They find two, both of whom have beautiful flowing hair, grab some keys that Dimitri and Leia can fight over, then start down to the garage.]

Don't suppose there are any identifiers on them? Not so much as strange eyes or a distinct odor?

[WHAT NO HAN WANTED TO DRIVE. But he only stops for a second before going around to take shotgun. Not exactly time to argue.]

[Dimitri shakes his head. And he'll take those keys tyvm. Leia can bitch him out if she wants to.]

No, I encountered them as they were...escaping. The one from the dungeons had taken form of my girlfriend.

[He looks pissed.]

Needless to say, the disguise was perfect.

[how do you profile someone with no identity? who can be anyone, anyone at all? that's what will graham is currently attempting to find out. bizarro cases like this attract him. also he feels like he'd be more use here than roaming the countryside trying to find someone with the distinct ability to not be found if they so choose. he would've tried talking to anyone available for talking (including wynn) about kyp, and their impressions of him. (gather info 23) currently, he's in the dungeon, and probably has abigail standing guard outside the entrance so he can do his thing ~without interruption.~ so to talk to him … you would have to go through her. he's sitting in kyp's cell with a creepy, spaced out expression while he goes over ideas in his head. (investigate 26) and i include gather info and investigate specifically bc they are for his profile talent in his profiler class (hover for deets.)]
