The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ queens are basically born for this kind of shit, tbh. family of professional party goers, champagne runs through their veins, it's science. once thea manages to get out of the armor (never again), she shows up at this party looking hella fly (nat 20, 30 total + charm against the menfolk), grabs a champagne glass and goes to town. gonna get drunk because this is how the queen family copes with emotional upheavals, weeeee.

[ he was not there when she decided, but that is neither here nor there. though pretty obvious to anyone that saw their dramatic slow motion hug during the actual ceremony. ]

[his wis roll to realize that was a sibling hug in the middle of the walk and not like reunited lovers or some shit was so high. he's so wise. it's almost like he has a million sisters or something.] Yeah, I got that. I think everyone did.

[Cora is mostly here to say hello to Thea and then bail. There are bruises on her shoulders and arms, but they're healing and she's pretty sure they're not that noticeable in the low light.

(She severely underestimates human eyesight.)

Regardless, when she approaches Thea, it's with a smile. Until she notices the aggressive champagne consumption and her eyebrows go up.]

I got thrown forty feet through the air by a fifteen foot tall candy golem yesterday.

[While they're comparing.]

[ briefly, thea looks impressed before she slams down on that. ]

So why aren't you drinking?

[ that deserves a drink. ]

[She shrugs.]

It wouldn't do anything for me. My metabolism processes it too quickly.

'cause of the -- [ she circles her face with her own hand, raising questioning eyebrows at cora. remember that time you got all grrr to get thea out of a makeshift prison cell? thea remembers.

[She can't help but smirk a bit at that before nodding.]

Because I'm a werewolf? Yeah.

That's a damn shame. [ gulp. ] My brother's here.

[ WELL THAT WAS ABRUPT. ]

[Cora remembers enough to remember that there was a brother in the equation (wisdom 14), and she knows all too well the painful catch-22 of having family here. On the one hand, they're here and you're not without them. On the other hand, they may not remember anything about you.]

Does he remember you?

[Getting that awkward question out of the way first.]

Yeah. [ like, duh? ] But we don't get along all the time and he's... Ollie. It's been so long since I've seen him last.

[ ITS WEIRD. she takes another drink. ]

[She nods quietly, before shrugging.]

The Veil can be weird sometimes. My brother didn't remember me.
