Did you all think you were going to get to spend your whole mission time just watching Dawson's Creek and going to bars and reading trashy romance novels and watching cats fly while Gar did all the work all week long?

Various duties are below - your characters will be dragged along on some of them over the course of the week. Feel free to pick and choose what your character might have volunteered (or been "volunteered") for.

Oh! [She only starts a little at the interruption, and then smiles.] Myri, thank you. I'm certain we can find something! [She goes to put some papers in front of her] These documents were taken from his files - copies of course - but we're looking for any mentions of -- [And then she seems to pale, realizing something] Oh, I'd... forgotten, I'm sorry. [She pulls the papers back] Kat mentioned you-- [Awkkkward. She'll.. give you some pictures instead.] Perhaps assistance with these instead...

[witchwoman]

[Myri on the other hand isn't embarrassed at all. She's a smart girl and can put it together once she sees the papers Gar was going to hand to her and then looks at the pictures she was given instead.]

Where I come from, only trained magicians are taught to read. I understand that it's different here. I only hope that I can still find a way to help.

[She looks closer at the pictures.]</small. What would you like me to do with these?

[rationalizes]

I'm certain you can. And we'll find some time this week to work on teaching you when we can.

[She leans over to spread out some of the images] These are surveillance images from the lobby of different visitors over the past few weeks. We're looking for any who seem to have been allowed to meet with Dr. Hoffman personally, before I was stationed as secretary. Particularly any who looked suspicious or out of place - or met with him on multiple occasions.

[witchwoman]

[Myri's smile breaks into a grin at the mention of Gar helping her learn to read. She listens intently to the instructions for the photos.]

I've never seen such detailed drawings. [She takes a seat at the other side of the table and begins to look at each one very carefully.]

research check i guess!

[rationalizes]

Oh, they aren't drawings. They're photographs. Er... it's a way of capturing the image of something, just as our eyes see it, and saving it without the need for reproducing it by hand.

[witchwoman]

[And she totally fumbled that research check. TOO FASCINATED BY THE PERFECT IMAGES, I GUESS.]

Is this more magic that isn't magic?

[rationalizes]

Exactly, yes. It's actually a trick done with light and wavelengths and... [ Yes. Magic. :| ]

[witchwoman]

[Myri bites her lip, trying to follow.]

Perhaps you can explain it in more depth when we return. [She truly is interested in everything this world has to offer. She focuses her attention back on the images but still only makes a 6 on a research check. She's new to this, okay?]

[rationalizes]

I'd love to. [She gives her an enthusiastic smile] We'll have you caught up in no time.

[witchwoman]

[Happy with this, Myri just flashes a smile and gets back to work. Several minutes pass before she stops and holds up two photos.]

This may be the same person. Here and here. [She slides the two images to Gar research check of 15] Do you think there are others looking for the artifact a well?

[rationalizes]

[Gar examines the slides of the man with interest] Others who might have a notion that the Hoffman Institute has information, you mean?

[witchwoman]

[Myri nods] From the way you and Wynn described it, I doubt we're the only ones on the hunt.

[rationalizes]

Well, if this man were attempting to get information, he wouldn't have had much luck getting it directly from the Doctor. He never even mentions it when anyone might be listening.

[witchwoman]

If it were as simple as asking, I don't think we'd be here ourselves.

[rationalizes]

So the question is what he'd be trying to accomplish by visiting Dr. Hoffman. Unless, of course, he was part of the Doctor's search team.

[witchwoman]

Is there any way to know for certain why he was there? Any other sources to check?

[rationalizes]

I can try to see if we have records of any communications sent from his office that day - perhaps he mentioned the results of the meeting.

[witchwoman]

[Myri nods before going back to her photos, trying to see if she can find anything additional]
