Just as before, accessing the secret room where the Round Table is housed requires using the Knight's keycard to open the glass case beside the mural of the War in Heaven, located across from the ballroom entrance. Using the fire extinguisher as a lever to activate the "door" mechanism reveals the long torch-lit hall plastered in artwork depicting the Knight's history. The tenants of the Knighthood hang large and foreboding over the doors at the end of the hall, which stand open to reveal the brightly lit Round Table, and the majestic crystalline dragon statue presiding over it.

Come in, find a seat, meet your teammates if you haven't already.

[ this is the first time abigail has gone into the round table room alone since... the first time. still 100% hella intimidating, but she just sits quietly down and slouches in her seat, tucking her book into her lap to continue reading while she waits for, presumably, everyone else. ]

[At least she doesn't have to wait long, because here comes Miles, who has a seat a couple of chairs down from her.]

Hi. [ she looks up briefly to offer a perfunctory smile, but that's it. not the most social of creatures, tbh. ]

[Grimrot comes in with a few books tucked under her arm and sits down, stacking them on the table in front of her.] Oh, good, I'm not late. [She tucks some hair behind one blue-tinged ear and flashes a slightly nervous smile at the other two, fangs peeping out from the side of her mouth.] Hello.

[ logan walks in behind her, surveying the group skeptically with hands on his hips, before he moves to lean against one wall, arms folded. fuck your chairs and your rules, basically. ]

[Nels strides confidently in, and takes a deep swooping bow]

[ wynn is close at his heels, with his uncanny ability to know when everyone is here. ] Good afternoon, Sir Llendo. And to you all.

[Miles greets Wynn with a respectful nod of his head before he speaks.]

Please tell me we're going somewhere warm?

[He's about to be so disappointed.]

Now you've jinxed it. [ abigail is gon' be so excite. snow! she marks her page and closes her book to focus on wynn. ]

If you're looking for warmth, I'm afraid you might be a bit disappointed. You'll be heading to the wilds of Canada, to a small lumber town called Falcon's Hollow. It seems that a mysterious disease has taken hold within the town, and several dozen people have become afflicted with it. The disease is fungal in nature, and has been dubbed 'blackscour taint' by the local clerics. While the malady has not proven to be particularly deadly, the town is out of the way of medical facilities, and many of the elderly and poor have found themselves facing mortal consequences, given how long it takes supplies to arrive - when they can even be afforded.

Reports have reached our ears because the disease is strangely resistant to clerical methods, but a local herbalist has had some luck with a cure. She runs a shop there called Roots and Remedies, and she claims that the herbs she uses grow only in a section of forest that fell through from the Shadow World some time ago. A rather dangerous section of forest, as it were, that goes by the name of Darkmoon Vale. She'd like for our aid in gathering the items she needs in safety, and helping administer the cure before this disease ravages her town.

[lurings]

[ she was excited for canada and then he had to follow it up with fungus. YOU KNOW WHO WAS ONCE ALMOST TURNED INTO A MUSHROOM GARDEN?

abigail. she huffs, agitated and curls her fingers around the book. ]

That sounds straightforward.

[adamantiumed]

Now that you said that, it won't be.

[lurings]

I said sounds, not will be.

[grimrot]

Do we know what the herb is? Convenient that it grows so near to where the disease has hit... do they suspect the disease is from the Shadow World?

[wynn]

That would be my best guess. You'll have to ask the herbalist for more information. I believe there are several ingredients she requires.

Convenient? I would have gone with foreboding.

[adamantiumed]

Now what would give you that idea.

[grimrot]

It does seem rather unlikely to be coincidence. [Grimrot adjusts her glasses.] But there's no reason that means it's foreboding.

[wynn]

Whatever the connection, I imagine you'll have the opportunity to investigate it while you're there.

[zwy_il]

[Nels just nods his head. Mysterious disease from another world? He's not loving the sound of this.]

Nothing we can't handle, I'm sure.

[wynn]

I'm certain. Sir Logan will operate as your mission leader. [ logan raises one woolly eyebrow at him but doesn't say anything ] Have you any other questions for me?

[cuivre]

Not from me.

[While he doubts this horrible forest will be straightforward, it's probably better to ask the locals.]

[grimrot]

Anything else, I'm certain we'll be able to learn by questioning the locals and doing research in the field. [Research, Grimrot's favorite. She's so excited. There is nothing sarcastic about these brackets she's legit thrilled.]

[lurings]

[ abigail has some questions, but figures they're best left for darkmoon floyd or whatever so she just keeps quiet, shaking her head before glancing at logan curiously. ]

Let's get a move out, then. [ without another word to his team, he nods to wynn, and heads for the door ]
