The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

If there's something in particular here that you would like to learn, or brush up on, I'm here to help you do that. Same with this world as well, since most people who come here have no clue what it's like.
[She gets a big smile on her face at this last, folding her arms across her chest as she does.]
As for you and I getting along? I think we'll be just fine, my friend.

That's going to depend on how much you interfere with my drinking.

As for your drinking, I see it like this. What you do on your own time is fine by me, you're your own person. But when we're on missions, it won't be so kosher. If there's downtime, a night off and so on, again do what you want, I'm not a babysitter.
But when we're active? It's likely to get someone, either yourself or another member of the team hurt in some way, shape or form, and I won't have that on my hands, or yours. That is where the drinking stops.

And damn, he wishes he could argue with that. Really, he does. But he can't. It does not mean he has to like it, though, because if he had his own way... There would be no missions. But he signed onto this in the hopes one of these people might figure out why... He's brain-damaged or whatever.
So with a grunt of agitation, he nods.] All right. Deal. [Just be prepared to smack the shit out of him when he starts shouting at things only he can see if he's too sober... This is why Haymitch is not the most battle-ready person ever. He stays in the hovercraft and tells people what to do. ...Not that he knows that. It's just common sense.]

Good, now that we're in agreement, do you have any questions for me? Or is everything pretty self-explanatory to you so far? [Again, there isn't a hint of sarcasm or impatience in her voice or demeanor, just simple curiosity and a genuine desire to do something for him.]

[All of the heavy dripping sarcasm a voice can manage is suddenly in her tone, her eyes still smiling but flashing with something of a challenge beneath her words.]

[She stands once more, picking a glass of wine from a passing waiter and taking a sip.] I can leave ye to enjoy the rest of your party then, Haymitch. But if ye have need of me, let me know.
[She salutes him with her glass, turning to leave.]
