February in Romania isn't very comfortable, so hopefully everyone bundled up for this little trip into the countryside. The appearance of a mysterious bank of fog into which several locals have gone inexplicably missing upon entering, has caused Wynn to speculate that it might be connected to the mist that appears when the Veil brings people from other worlds. Could this be the first instance of a door going the other way? If so, here's hoping it's a round trip...

She drops her backpack on the ground and rifles through it until she finds her rope.] And if we have to go into it, someone should tie this around their waist and only go a little ways in just to see.
[because the magic of the Veil can be defeated by rope.]

But she just sighs and makes a worried face, letting her protests end with that one last weak attempt.]

dovan tugs on the rope around his waist, making sure it's secure before nodding to them all. ] Now hold tight to th' end! Don't go droppin' it. [ with a wink at them, he turns, squares his shoulders, and heads off into the mist. the rope trails after him, going slowly taut in their hands as he gets further and further in--
and then suddenly the rope goes entirely slack ]

[in a move that is incredibly stupid and yet still probably one of the more noble things nathan has done in his stupid ass life, he jumps in after dovan. ADIOSSSSSS]

If...if one of us goes, then we all should. [she looks to Paige and Henry.] Wynn made this team for a reason, right?

the cloying fog closes in around them as they vanish into the thick mist.
when they come through, they find themselves with the mist behind them, as well as a set of big black iron gates, as if they just walked through them. they're standing on a cobblestone path or road, surrounded by oppressive blackened dense trees. it seems to be twilight, and feels like late fall. the air feels wet, and nathan stands a few feet in front of them, looking down at what appear to be five bodies splayed out across the road. the dead bodies all wear very bright, flowing, poofy clothing, stained with blood and gore now, as if they'd been savaged by a pack of wild wolves.
dovan is nowhere in sight. ]

[She looks around.] Where is Sir Dovan?
