Last April, a kindly book seller and purveyor of magical lore found himself the victim of an attack via mail when dangerous magical creatures were sent to his shop from the untraceable sender "PTC".  Since then, Wynn's been tracking the mail system, waiting for that name to pop up again, in case it might lead them to find out who was behind the first attack, and stop any other disasters from occurring.  Recently, something popped up on the radar, so the Knights have to find a way into the exclusive restaurant the Spider's Web in Manchester, or its attached nightclub The Lagoon Club.

[Phineas rapidly completes his circle, and summons a small chimera-looking entity and a whole lot of black smoke. He quietly mutters to himself;] I was having a really good day, too... Amon let's just get this over with. [Rushed pacts are the best pacts. He stands up and whirls around, now sporting some wicked ram's horns.]

Out of the way, dammit. [He says in a uncharacteristically angry tone, as he strides back out of the elevator, and using Heroic Surge vomits a 50 foot long line of fire at the dragon. Reflex DC 17, for 20 fire damage.]

Howd'ya like that, you overgrown lizard bastard?

JESUS. [That's Bambi's reaction to Phineas's current appearance change AND ALSO FIREBREATH.]

This got really metal really fast. [Said the girl with the ax. She hesitates for a moment, as if she's debating whether she wants to actually do this and then finally rushes into the fray. She'll regret this later, she's sure. Annnd it'll probably take her entire turn to reach the dragon, so there's a nerd with an ax. Yay.]

[ well the dragon crit failed so

it sure didn't see that coming.

fire gouts against its backside, so it turns to glare at phineas, and bambi gets to enjoy its dragon head whipping around, deep-socketed eyes seeking her out, broad nasal openings in his face that make it look like a skull.

the drow takes advantage of the distraction to get to his feet, trying to jump back over the bar, but with a 9 jump check he... biffs it. scowling, he turns, pressing his back to the bar and fires wildly at it, and landing an impaling shot through its neck (atk 20, dmg 16 penetration).

lucky for bambi, because otherwise it was going to munch on her. instead, it hisses, and turns back, closing in on the drow, its jaws lunging out to latch onto his face (atk 20, dmg 9). the drow's screams are muffled by the fact that his FACE IS BEING EATEN.

cordelia is just gonna scream as she looks up to see that b/c wtf ]

[Kate doesn't hesitate and tries shooting it again, somehow keeping her arm steady in the process (attack 24, damage 11).]

[ kate's shot smoothly slides home and the dragon lurches with surprise. cordelia hesitates, but finally runs after bambi, taser in hand. it takes her whole turn to get over there though. ] This is suicide!

[arrested]

[ So real talk: Alisha has helped kill people, but it was always mostly an accident. She's no Ninja bullshit or anything like that. So right now she's about as useless as a matchstick in a fire.

Also, there's a dragon. ]

Okay what the fuck is going on here?

[ She also doesn't have a weapon, so she'll use her turn to run and grab a chair. A big scary chair. ]

We're slaying a goddamned dragon, that's what!

[Phineas has chosen to be impressive today, with a Nat 20 attack roll to charge the dragon and gore it with his new horns, for 11 damage]

[Stricken by the fact that that COULD HAVE BEEN HER, Bambi swings her ax down on the dragon (atk 20 total, dmg 17 with penetration mmm)] Y'know, as one does.

[ phineas' horns tear through the thing's scales and it roars... and then a whipping slash from bambi leaves a dividing laceration in its side that starts gushing dark blood, and the dragon staggers a few steps... then falls down, eyes rolling back in its head, as it slumps loudly to the floor.

the drow, having dropped his gun, is clawing at his bleeding, horrible face over here, and leaning away, still afraid the dragon is alive and going to finish him off over here.

cordelia shrieks and throws up an arm to shield her face from the final spray of blood, and then looks down at the body, mouth agape. after a second, she reaches down and tazes it, just for good measure ] And stay down!

[There's a part of Kate that sags with relief when the dragon goes down, because man, she is not equipped to deal with dragons. She waits until after Cordelia finishes tazing their lizard friend, before shouting to the rest of the group.]

Aside from our friend over there, is everyone okay?

[The guy had his face eaten off, she's not going to make him answer for himself.]

I just... sliced open a dragon. With an ax.

Oh, I'm just peachy. [Phineas says sarcastically, as he kicks the lifeless dragon]. Just what I needed.

[ from the elevator bank, two bugbears come running up, stopping when they see the dragon's dead. they part to make way for a stylish looking drow, who snaps in the direction of the still screaming drow gunman. the two bugbears move towards him, hauling him up from either side by scooping an arm under his, and starting to drag him away.

the drow looks over at them all, raising one eyebrow coolly, speaking with the faintest scottish accent. "... It seems I owe you my gratitude." ]

For not getting eaten? You might be onto something, mister.

[ he chuckles a bit, purple eyes flashing.

"Well, that too. But mostly for protecting my patrons. My name is Keerianinor Ken'lyl. You're standing in my club." ]

[Kate glances over, studying him for a moment, before straightening as she puts her gun away.]

Mind telling us how a dragon wound up in your club, Mr. Ken'lyl?

[She falls into cop mode easily, exuding an authority that she doesn't really have, but considering she just helped kill a dragon for him, he might allow it (diplomacy 17).]

Aside from being shipped by FedEx, of course. [Bambi makes a face at her bloodied axe and tries to surreptitiously wipe it off on a table cloth.]

[ "Why don't we discuss that over drinks? It seems the least I can do." ] I don't know. You could always introduce us to some of your celebrity friends.

[arrested]

[ Alisha will just... throw that chair down, and stand there looking a bit shell shocked. ]

Yeah well make it a double.

[There's a fond but slightly exasperated look in Cordelia's direction at the mention of celebrities, before nodding her agreement. She probably shouldn't be drinking on the job but they just fought a dragon. She could use one.]

A drink would be good.

[ as more security people make their way in, past the fleeing people who are going up the stairs and elevator, keerianinor gestures to one of them to fetch drinks, nodding at an intact table for them to come sit.

"I don't suppose it's too much to ask for the names of the people I owe my clients' lives to?" ]

Cordelia Chase. [ she offers with a little flip of her hair as she sits down. was that supposed to be secret???? w/e ]

[Bambi looks to Cordy and then just shrugs.] I'm Bambi Dalton. Yes, two of your saviors are people named Bambi and Cordelia. It's a regular young adult bestseller in here.

[She slides into the seat beside Cordy.]

[So frustrated... He signals for a drink.]

[She'll mostly take a seat, favoring the shoulder she was shot in still as she does.]

[As long as they're not spouting out the organization they work for in full detail, real names shouldn't be that big an issue.]

[ She moves up and sits herself down, giving her hair a bit of a lift as she does. ]

Alisha. So you going to tell us what the fuck that was all about or are we supposed to just guess?

[ he spreads his hands, a gesture of innocence. "I'd tell you if I knew more. It seems one of my business associates saw fit to send it express, no doubt to interrupt my business here, and spread panic among my usual clientele." ]

[Kate watches him carefully but casually, paying careful attention to what he says as he speaks (sense motive 27).]
