Not all international intrigue happens in presidential palaces, plush business offices, and smoky dives next to waterfronts.  Some happens in the coldest, dreariest parts of the world.

The Ukrainians expect the Knights to head for the Russian research station from the drop point, stop to disable both the helicopter and communications tower, then enter the compound. Once there, they are to find Prytyka and question him on camera, transmitting this conversation live via a satellite uplink with their contact, Kuchma.

They are currently been flown to the drop point 2 miles from Adelie 14, and Kuchma is on the plane with them, providing them all with arctic gear and final requests.  They have access to thermal undergarments, snowsuits, boots, parkas, snow goggles, gloves and mittens, as well as a portable satellite phone and video camera, and several AKSU-74 sub machine guns.

"Many firearms are unreliable in the extreme Antarctic weather, so you might wish to take one," Kuchma cautions.

What's going on down there?

[so much to say, so little time...] Kuchma set us up. There don’t seem to be any biological weapons here. Maybe some illegal oil drilling, but still not what we came for. Prytyka is Ukrainian. Kuchma used the footage of us interrogating him and butchered it so that we look like Russians threatening him and are using it as an excuse to launch an all-out assault. So, now, the question is … what should we do next?

I was afraid of this. But it's not too late for us to turn this around on the Ukrainians. I can put some calls in, explain the truth of this to those situated in a position to prevent further raids, but it's likely too late to stop whatever troops they've already dispatched.

Is your team in condition to hold them off, until we can send personnel to reach you?

I'll mobilize a rescue immediately. I'm counting on you all.

[once he hangs up, he relays this information to frankie and then goes back to tell everyone else.]

We don't know how many soldiers they're bringing, but they're going to have to funnel through one of two entrance points. We should split up: three on one entrance, two on the other.

[back to being his lil smartass self now that he's not talking to wynn] Drax is big enough for two people, isn't he?

I was thinking Allison could go with him, since she can support him from a distance.

I am strong enough for ten people! [He's just saying.] Depending on the size and strength of those people, the number could also be larger or smaller.

[But he nods towards Allison.] However, I would not turn down ranged support.

The other three of us will take the other entrance. We try to keep anyone from getting through, but we'll warn Prytyka to be prepared in case anyone does slip by.

Works for me. [She'll move to stand by Drax, waiting for him to find his position so that she can set up a spot where she'll have a good view.]
