Not all international intrigue happens in presidential palaces, plush business offices, and smoky dives next to waterfronts.  Some happens in the coldest, dreariest parts of the world.

The Ukrainians expect the Knights to head for the Russian research station from the drop point, stop to disable both the helicopter and communications tower, then enter the compound. Once there, they are to find Prytyka and question him on camera, transmitting this conversation live via a satellite uplink with their contact, Kuchma.

They are currently been flown to the drop point 2 miles from Adelie 14, and Kuchma is on the plane with them, providing them all with arctic gear and final requests.  They have access to thermal undergarments, snowsuits, boots, parkas, snow goggles, gloves and mittens, as well as a portable satellite phone and video camera, and several AKSU-74 sub machine guns.

"Many firearms are unreliable in the extreme Antarctic weather, so you might wish to take one," Kuchma cautions.

[With her weapon at the ready, Frankie is going to hold action until such time as somebody tries to shoot at one of them; (And if they do Atk 25, Dmg 8 just to save jumping in if that happens.) And instead tries a little thing called talking, mainly to the north group seeing as they're right where she is.]

Nobody here wants to hurt anyone. This is just a big misunderstanding. [A beat.] I mean do I sound Russian to you?

[sylar will join frankie in this noble pursuit. mostly bcuz he'll do better damage if they get closer. (unsure)] Definitely not Russians. Why don't you just ... walk away? You're gonna regret it, otherwise.

[ these guys seem very uninterested in conversation :( they raise their weapons, and frankie manages to get off one shot at Soldier A in the north group before they unleash a barrage of AK fire at them both. Reflex 15 is the DC to not take the damage as all their shots strike the area where frankie and sylar are standing (@ frankie: 8 dmg & 9 dmg, and @ sylar: 9 dmg & 10 dmg). syd ducks back behind the doors at the sound of gunfire, losing her turn, as the western group makes it to the doors and three of them take up positions to keep watch while one sets to breaking the door open. ]

[With some super-fly moves, Frankie manages to comfortably avoid getting shot (RS 21), spinning out of their line of fire and turning back to line up Soldier A as she calls out.]

Syd! You see much from there?

[Firing @ Soldier A: Atk 26 Dmg 9 if it hits.]

[ frankie's bullet catches soldier A again, but isn't quite enough to take him down, burying itself in the shoulder of his armored vest. he's quick to retaliate and fire at her again, along with soldier B (again, ref 15 for each attack to negate) for dmg 7 & 4 @ frankie and 7 & 10 @ sylar.

syd ducks her head out, seems to consider the firing group and the others that are currently engaged in trying to get through the door, and decides not to abandon her friends, squeezing off a pair of shots at A (atk 16 and 11) - unfortunately both miss.

the western team has pulled out an acetylene torch, and is getting that door open. ]

[Dodging both hits again (Ref 29 + 20 total), Frankie fires off another shot at Soldier Boy A. (Atk 27 Dmg 12).]

[ with a groan, A is knocked off his feet, gun clattering to the ground as he falls unconscious. B backs away five feet before firing again on frankie (18 dmg if she fails the save), and C shifts his focus there as well (7 dmg if she fails). D keeps focused on sylar (8 dmg on a fail).

frustrated, syd comes charging out around the corner towards B, using her momentum to hit him hard with a kick (atk 28, 24 dmg... ) that sends him sprawling onto the ground, disabled.

there's a loud clang as the western team gets the door open. ]

[Dodging both shots again (RS 25 + 17) Frankie starts to move around closer to where the western team has gotten open the door, firing off a shot at C as she goes. (Which I'm pretty sure I can have her do if I can ya know, read right. Atk 29 Dmg 15)]

[ yep! her shot strikes C in the back, and B whirls around to fire back at her as A, C, and D slip inside. (ref 15 or 8 dmg)

to the north, the disabled soldier tries to crawl away, as syd moves to the next soldier (C), and critically round house kicks him in the head (dmg 12), barely avoiding being cracked over the head by the barrel of his gun's. D fires once on her, but she dodges just in time. ]

[While Syd handles D, Frankie steps out of the line of B's fire (Ref 19) before lining him up for one of her own (Atk 14 Action point says 27, Dmg 8)]

[ north-C ducks syd's foot the next time (atk 14), but she takes him in the chin with a follow-up punch (dmg 4). north-C retaliates by slamming his rifle butt right into the crown of her head (atk 24, dmg 7), and she just manages to avoid the spray of bullets from north-D.

west-B takes the shot from frankie and fires back at her (10 dmg on a failed reflex), while west-A, C, and D all disappear into the building. ]

[Oh yeah it's so times like this that I wish I had 1 more point on BAB.

A bullet whizzes right past Frankie's face, so close that she can feel the whoosh against her cheek (Ref 15) and she takes another shot on West B (Wow I guess the die felt bad... Atk 31 Dmg 22) then calls back;]

They're inside. [She is however, not about to abandon Syd so.]

[ frankie takes down West-B, just as drax comes around the corner to see syd land another kick to north-C's face, but he's still standing, and she avoids his rifle butt this time. ]

Not even close... [As Frankie turns her focus back on... North C & D? I'm losing count okay ;; Firing a shot at each now the West-B is taken care of; North D: Atk 23 Dmg 10. North C: Atk 25 Dmg 9. Yeah bet you're glad she leveled up and now gets two attacks, huh :D.]

[ they aren't far down the hall, so drax can get an attack in on one of them. West-C is already injured, but West-A and West-D are unharmed.

[ he slams his fist into the side of West-C's helmet as sydney goes to focus on North-D (atk 21, dmg 7), avoiding his attack in kind.

west-C comes nowhere near hitting drax, and A&D keep going, leaving him to fight drax. ]

[If... my math is right which it might not be. That leaves just one guy for Sydney to deal with so if that is the case, Frankie will shout out to Sydney; "You got this?" before going to join Drax if yes.

If she gets close enough to get in one attack; atk 25, dmg 15 (penetration).

IF however. There's more than one dude left with Syd and my math just sucks?! atk 25, dmg 15 (penetration) + atk 20 (total) dmg 7 for North-D.

That was a whole lot of ifs and buts but hopefully covers all options.]
