The day has finally arrived: the 2015 Grammy's gather together musical talent at the top of the food chain, which means that NOVA Records will be well represented at this year's ceremony. Unfortunately, this includes performances from Keijen Blade's band, Heatless Passion, and Nadia Reichenov's, Derere, both of whom are working for "Chad Becksworth", aka Draken Crombe, head of the Shadowkind-hating cult, the Church of the Lord's Humanity. Equipped with some sort of ability to hypnotize large crowds with subliminal messages, Wynn fears what lies beneath Keijen's intended performance, and is sending his Knights to shut down the broadcast, to prevent that message from being spread to millions of viewers worldwide.

Meanwhile, the gang finally has a chance to see Rafael Giovanni again - but what he's been up to in the months since they last saw him, and how his reunion with Buffy will go, remains to be seen.

Several of the Knights have decided that this is their last chance as well to try and break Nadia free from Keijen's influence, now that they've learned the truth about him - that Keijen is in fact Kel'in'hrae, sadistic son of the Nightmare God Malaak'a, likely working to free his father from the prison Sehanine had created for him. The prison sealed by the relic that the team has been chasing for years, believing it to be an immortality-granting talisman of great power.

The truth, it seems, was worse than they could have imagined.

One step at a time, however, and stopping the signal is first priority on Failboat's to do list for now. With an actual plan under their belts this time, maybe this is the turning point they've been waiting for...

[A wry half grin pulls at the corner of her mouth, Rose nodding.]

That's the one. [Her eyes fall to the bottles and she lifts one shoulder in a shrug.] Yeah with some parts of it. It's better than when I don't anyway.

I guess if anyone has a good excuse for drinking on the job, it's you.

Heh, yeah... I'm trying not to. Last thing I want is to be off my mental game with Keijen in the room.

He's that strong, huh? [ he mulls on that for a moment, glancing over at kat ] Guess that's the god juice.

I had a stake pressed against his spine and he just looked... amused. [Things she regrets for a thousand after recent revelations.] It's not that he's fearless it's just, like he knows he can't be touched or something.

Pride comes before the fall. He thinks he's untouchable. That could work to our advantage.

Yeah, hopefully. I'd say we can appeal to his more sensitive side but after that briefing? Not sure he actually has one. [Eyes hardening a little as she recalls certain details.]

Yeahh, pretty sure I'm gonna chalk that one up in the lost cause column.

Yeah you and everyone who's ever met him. [She lets out a huff of air, head rolling to the side to regard Fred a moment, lips pulling into a thin line, a hint of concern in her eyes.] How are you feeling about ya know, getting back out there?

[The 'because you died the last time' kinds goes without saying.]

I read it can take a while to get back to normal.

Sweets?! [Her nose wrinkles. Rose doesn't think much about head doctors.] Yeah but how do you feel?

I'm not gonna say that staring my mortality in the face wasn't a big deal or anything. I guess I just... always figured it was coming some day. I fight things for a living. Unlike some people, I don't have any illusions about my being invincible.

[Understanding flashes in her eyes, lips twitching into a small, half smile as she bobs her head.]

Yeah it kinda goes with the territory. [For just a moment it looks like she's going to ask something but appears to think better of it, lifting her shoulder in a shrug; (WS 12/Wis 18).] Well for the record, I'm glad you're - [Not dead?!] Alright.

That makes two of us. Dying wasn't ever exactly the plan.

I've found it's best to try and avoid it, yeah. [Grin tugging at the corner of her mouth.] So... with Mark busy being King does that mean you're part of this team now?

I'd like to think I earned my stripes on Andres. But probably.
