[  The Knights' mission to stop the signal and prevent Draken's cult from spreading whatever subliminal message  was lurking beneath Keijen Blade's performance was a success.  It didn't come without its bumps in the road, however:  Alexander Anderson showed up, and the Knights ran afoul of the Mind Master.    Buffy nearly died fighting Anderson, but in the end, he was defeated, beheaded, and hopefully put to death forever.   Finnick, though, found himself thrust into a mental illusion that convinced him he might still be in the Hunger Games, and left him uncertain about whether any of his life here was real.  

Another surprise came in the form of an announcement by Nadia Reichenov, an artist working with Crombe and company, that she was changing her band name and taking things in a 'new direction'.   This direction was perhaps revealed when after her performance, she approached the Knights in Rafael's dressing room - and handed them the necklace that connects her to the Nightmare God Malaak'a, saying she was willing to tell them everything.  ]

[ isabella looks over at him like oh right there's some fucking thing you haven't told me about her and looks hurt all over again. ] Then I am going in as well.

[ jack turns to gar over here ] You know the most here of anyone about divine lore. You should go. [ her eyes widen a little bit, but then she nods once firmly, forcing a little smile. ]

No. You [He points at Rafael] already tried to attack her once and we're trying to get her on our side. And you [he points at Isabella] have way too much of a temper. We want this to not end in bloodshed, surprisingly.

[Diplomacy crit fail because the dice know Spike's life but I'm action pointing it 18.]

[Not getting into that fight, nope. She'll just address Jack.]

I can stay outside. If anyone comes looking for Nadia, I might be able to distract them.

I'm staying out here with Elena and Des. [ Buffy looks over to the two of them and nods. This has nothing to do with how much she doesn't want to look at the group that's already bickering about who's going inside. ] You can put on your best Nadia face, and we'll be enough heavy weight to sell it as real.

Actually, Buffy, I think it's a better idea for you to go with them. [ he nods towards spike and myri ] If it is a trap, we've no idea what you might find yourselves up against. [ his eyes skate to myri for a moment ] And we've certain precious cargo that I'd prefer sees no harm.

[ and in regards to raf and isabella... ] As for the others, they've made a point earlier. They are not Knights, and I cannot order them to stay out. I can however, ask that they simply listen, and do not interfere in what is Knights' business if that is their choice. As an ally.

[romanticidal]

[ rafael had looked sharply at spike - and so had isabella, but future arguments from them seem cut off by jack's quick intercession. he just listened to all that in the car. he fucking knew where this was going. ] ... This is fair, si.

[ For a moment, she looks ready to argue, eyes darting to Spike, Isabella, and Rafael. There are a dozen justifications on her tongue, second guessings of Jack's judgment, but she swallows them all because

well, because it's Jack. And if what just went down in the car didn't shake his faith in her to be able to set it aside and deal with what happens in there, then she'll prove him right for that. So instead, she nods compliantly. ]

You're the boss.

[Alainn's eyes go from gold to green and with a good listen check you would be able to hear the faint cry of a hawk circling overhead.]

I'll go in as well. [She pulls up her skirt for the gun strapped to her other thigh, holding it at the ready. doesn't want to have to haul it out if it's an emergency. Also, no shame..]

[And with a glance at Myri, Rose bobs her head and adds onto the end of Alainn's response.]

Same. [If for no other reason than she'll happily be an actual Dhampir shield for Myri and bb!Myri if need be.]

[Archer pulls his sawed-off shotgun out, gives it a few spins, then cradles it.]

I'll keep an eye on things out here. I've got a kid to look after now, I can't go rushing off into danger like I used to.

[chessing]

Those who are staying outside, let's do what we can to stay hidden for now.

[ he nods to spike and myri ] Good luck.

[ outside group can take nat 20s on their hide checks and put totals here, as well as spot checks! other group will get a new thread ]

[Elena is preemptively donning Nadia face with a disguise check of 45. She also gets a 29 hide, and a nat 20 spot check (37 total).]

[Nat 20 hide puts Archer at 24, and a spot check of 17 is actually shockingly good for him.]

[Des has a 30 hide with that twenty and a 26 spot check. LOOK HE CAN ROLL GREAT ONES. He's already reloaded his gun with the last of the bullets he brought, so I guess he better make those nine count...]

Wonder how everything's going on the inside. [He glances over at Elena/Nadia/Ganger] Think they've managed to somehow miraculously fuck everything up yet?

[doubletake]

[She glances over briefly before her eyes continue to scan their surroundings.]

I haven't heard any gunshots or screaming yet. That has to be a good sign, right?

[isisagent]

I don't know... There wasn't a whole lot of screaming or gunshots that time at the Hudson river, either.

[Lets be real - these bastards have mind-whammies]

[Des is here on the other side of Elena, laser-focused on what's going on out there beyond their hiding place with an uncomfortable tension, one hand wrapped around his gun, the other drumming an anxious beat on the hilt of the bayonet at his side.]

I'd be shocked if there wasn't some screaming down at that river, Archer, even if it wasn't close enough for you to hear it.

[It was horrific. She remembers finding out about it all too well.]

Well... I mean, I was screaming with joy while mounting a Unicorn. So, l point for Ravenclaw.
