The Knights arrive in Aursaburg to help the villagers with a problem they've been having with a local witch. The little village seems fairly quiet, but the team would be able to hear some rather heated words spoken a bit down the road from them. It escalates to shouting in a hurry, with the most noticeable word of the bunch being 'witch.' Faye glances at the others, realizing that oh shit- I'm in charge. Squaring her shoulders, she gestures for the group to follow her down the road.

"Sounds like our cue." Whatever is going on in this town seems to be happening thatta way.

[There's a faint sound of growling from a couple spots around the room, but no further action. Just the hag and the girl are visible. Whatever else remains in the room is biding its time.]

[Given the hole that Kenzi has in her foot right now... does anyone actually think it's a good idea for her to be aiming at the invisible creature?!]

Errr... Is this one of those situations where it's totally okay to shoot the old bat?! [And Kenzi will ready an action to fire her gun. Atk 25 Dmg 19 (Penetration). If yes for the old lady, if no... well she'll try and hit the invisible thing.]

Yes. [Faye says with as much emphasis as she possibly can.] Kill the bitch and we can maybe save the girl.

[Faye pulls back her hand and hurls a fireball at the hag, who annoyingly makes her reflex save and only takes half the damage... grr so 18 damage.]

[Autumn pulls back the fabric from hiding he face, revealing her now distorted and wretched features. Everyone has to make a fort save DC 13 or be nauseated for 2 rounds. Faye gets a 15. Groa just cackles again, content to stand back and let people do her work for her for now. She's convinced that she's won.]

[Taradiddle juuust barely makes it (fort 13) then promptly turns invisible, slinking around towards Groa.]

[Cora's attack on the invisible thing definitely hit. I don't think I mentioned it before whoops. But now it mad. It lunges for her and sinks its jaws into her calf (attack 22 which I think misses in her werewolf form so her hide is just too tough.)]

[yep, it bites down but it gets no traction. she also has no problem staying on task (fort save 21). she's just going to continue to try and take out the invisible thing attacking her (attack 25, damage 16, attack 39, damage 20 without penetration damage, 24 with).]

[That... kills it. The invisibility spell drops and reveals a large wolf. The other random sounds from around the room seem to still in that moment. But after a heartbeat of stunned silence, three furred creatures move to Cora's side, sniffing the fallen wolf but not attacking the werewolf girl. One nudges her hand and lets out a strange half whimper noise of confusion.]

[I guess when you accidentally eat people a couple of times... you develop a strong stomach (Fort Save 25).

Given the Yes from Faye, Kenzi's already focused on the Hag and while she might not be nauseated, she's still gonna make gagging noises as she lines her up again. Atk 27. Dmg 10.]

[Kenzi's shot strikes! And Faye hurls another fireball, which this time hits the hag square in the chest and she doesn't make her reflex save yessss (damage 40).

The hag shrieks in pain, looking hurt as fuck but still standing. In fact, she lunges out from behind Autumn to try to claw Faye's face (attack 20, damage 5).

Autumn remains still through this, rocking back and forth her with a pearl clutched in her hands.]

[From behind, invisible!Taradiddle raises her excalibur and shoots at the hag with deadly precision (atk nat 20, dmg 21). And then she stops being invisible but THAT WAS WORTH IT.]

[Cora reaches down and brushes her hand against the top of the wolf's head gently, doing her best to be accepting and non-threatening (handle animal 18). And if that is high enough to gain the pack's trust, she's going to immediately turn them on the Groa (diplomacy 23).]

Get her.

[Taradiddle's shot actually kills the hag, causing her to stagger back away from Autumn and fall to the ground. But the wolves definitely respond to Cora's commands and leap after the fallen witch, ripping into her flesh... so she's super dead.

[Good wolves. But when it's clear that the witch is dead, Cora will call them back, before shifting back into human form again. When she looks to Autumn, she isn't really sure what to say, but she wants to make sure the girl is still a girl.]

Autumn?

[The young girl doesn't move, still hunched over, hands tightly gripping a large pearl. She shakes visibly when Cora speaks her name.

Faye steps over to Kenzi and Taradiddle, keeping an eye on Cora and Autumn, but attempting some mission leadery things right quick.]

You guys okay?

[Cora is just going to do her best to keep her calm, not wanting to start up the fight again (diplomacy 13).]

Your mother asked us to find you. She even sent your familiar with us.

[She has not forgotten about you, precious kitty friend.]

[Autumn stirs at the mention of her familiar, her fingers flexing around the pearl, which thrums. She opens her mouth to speak, but the sound is choked off and she doubles over in pain.]

[Cora reaches for her on instinct, placing one hand on her arm gently, and if that doesn't trigger something, she's going to try and pull pain from her, to try and buy them time to figure out what's wrong.]

[There's plenty of pain for Cora to take, but she would notice that it seems to originate from the pearl that Autumn has been holding since they arrived. Faye turns to notice Cora touching the half-transformed girl and doesn't necessarily know if that's a great idea, but she's just going to keep an eye on things.]

[Cora lets her eyes scan over it for a moment, before acts impulsively, as she do. She reaches forward to smack or try to pry the pearl out of her hands - but she's leaning more towards smack so she doesn't have to touch it too much (strength 21?).]

Hole in the foot aside? [Never 5-get the literal shooting herself in the foot.] Peachy.

[Looking over Cora and Autumn, she adds under her breath.] Can we say the same about her?

[Yep, that gets the pearl out of her grasp. And with the hag dead, it doesn't really have any way to transfer the magical mojo elsewhere. Autumn collapses to the floor but a spot of 20+ will see the effects slowly receding. Faye fails it miserably and takes a step back. She's seen the Ring okay. Not interested...]

[With a Nat 20 Spot check, Kenzi continues to look like she's making questionable life choices. Stepping over to Autumn as Faye steps back.]

Hey... lady person. Are you... okay? [Crouching down beside her.] Scale of one to ten?
