The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[She smiles wryly-- there's no offense taken, at least, concerning the fact that Rose had to ask.]

Can't say I blame you. They probably don't vary much, do they. Attendance isn't mandatory?

Sort of new... [She repeats, clearly confused.]

Just the new faces and, nah, I mean. I think Wynn likes us to show our face but it's not a big deal if you don't.

Been getting to know the castle for a couple of weeks, but the whole squiring thing? New as of tonight.

[Thankfully, she's been squired to a friend-- or the closest thing she has to a friend in this place. Kate had been the one to point her towards the Knights in the first place, though they'd met entirely by chance.]

Good to know. For future reference. [Not that she plans to skip many, if at all. Feels a little like an occupational obligation.] Abbie, by the way.

[She holds out a hand, offering it to shake.]

That explains it. [A beat.] I've been away. [For The Grammys. Things that only happen in KoL.] People are always coming and going around here but you get used to it.

[And it keeps things interesting. Rose was one of those people who always seemed happier when she was out in the field than when she was floating around the Castle.]

Rose. [Accepting her hand.] Welcome and... all that? [She may in fact suck at this part.] So how'd you end up here anyway?

I figured as much. Sounds like some of the missions people get sent out on run pretty long. Keeps people busy. Makes sense that you wouldn't be able to keep up with everyone here.

[Considering the size of the organization, it seems like it would be almost impossible to do so anyway, though Abbie likes to make an effort to remember names and faces.

She gives a firm shake, offering a smile as she releases Rose's hand.]

Happened to run into Sir Beckett when we both independently stumbled upon a nest of ghouls. She liked the way I handled myself. Helped me get my land legs, so to speak.
