The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Thanks. [ her smile turns a little soft, pleased with henry's compliment, and she takes his hand without hesitation moving out to the dance floor and putting her other hand on his shoulder. she's like... a really good dancer, fyi. all that feline liquid cat grace. (dance 22) ]

[ He feels pretty lucky actually, considering he's never really danced with anyone, and someone he thinks is pretty awesome wanted to dance with him. Having not been sure he'd even come to the party, it's turning out pretty alright now. There's a big smile on his face as they dance, and he's better at it than he thought he would be (perform dance 18). Every now and then he glances around the room, just a quick look, before smiling back at her. ]

Who are you looking for? [ she assumes he's looking for someone, a sweep around the room like that. ]

Some family. And...a friend. [ Ok, so he's really just hoping to avoid his moms at the moment. And he's a little eager to see Cora. Maybe. ]

Maybe I know them? I can help?

Do you know Cora Hale?

[ She seems like the safest person to seek out right about now. ]

Yes! [ and her spot was like a million (or 36, w/e) so she easily picks the puppy out of the crowd. ] She's helping me learn that cats and dogs can get along.

[ How do you say... 'Well, I maybe sort of have a crush on her, by the way' without sounding like a dork... ]

Really? She's pretty amazing, isn't she?

[ her nose wriggles like a kitten sniffing treats. ]

I'm very fond of her. She's also very pretty, her face is almost perfectly symmetrical. I'm not even that symmetrical and I was made.

[ Kali is easily more...unique than anyone else he's ever met. In more ways than one, obviously. Never a dull moment, and he loves it, although he might be blushing a little, unbeknownst to him. ]

Yeah, she is. [ Realizing what he's said, he clears his throat and quickly adds: ] You are, too, you know. You look symmetrical to me, though, and I promise I'm not just saying that. I can't believe you were...made.

Mhmm, in a very sterile lab. [ she squints, poking her own cheeks. she doesn't quite believe him, but she'll let it go. ]

[ Now his curiosity is piqued, and his eyebrows furrow together slightly as he reaches out, fingers brushing near her cheek but not quite touching. ] May I?

Sure, go ahead. [ she's been poked and prodded her whole life so she doesn't mind at all, standing very still for henry. ]

[ And he does. Just a light touch with curiosity in his eyes. His lips purse as though he's deep in thought. ] Yep, I was right. Can't even tell. They did a good job. [ Just to make it less weird, he smiles at her and pulls his hand away.]

[ that causes a grin to break over her expression, hands clasping together in front of her. henry is the best. ]

[ He smiles widely back at her and then looks over at the snack table. He hadn't really eaten much before Kali invited him to dance. ] I don't know about you but I'm kind of starving. Wanna grab some food?

[felidity]

Hmm. I think I'm going to ask that surly man over there to dance. [ she points to a random surly looking man. ] So I'll see you later.

[ and she bounces off to do just that with a little wave and a grin. bye henry! ]
