The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

[The sheriff himself had been her partner, but his untimely death had changed things for her-- for everyone, but she'd felt it more keenly than most. She hadn't just lost her partner or her boss, but the only father she'd ever really known.]

What was it like, I mean, was there a lot of crime?

Seemed like a good fit.

[She smiles wryly. Right now, this feels like where she's supposed to be, though some part of her doubts, thinks maybe it could distract her from the mission she's supposed to be serving-- but for the moment, she's trying to think of them as one in the same. As far as she knows, she's here until further notice. She has to make the best of it.

She relaxes a little, letting one hand fall to her hip, thumb hooked into her pocket.]

Probably about as much as any other small city. Sleepy Hollow's a nice place, for the most part-- historical town, clean streets, mostly honest folk, though it's got bad apples mixed in the same as anywhere else. Had your standard breaking and entering, a few missing persons every now and then, but it wasn't until recently that things started to change. Took an interesting turn.
