The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

First week of June thereabouts. [ whereas she looks like she's literally about to pop any second since she is nine months pregnant. it's gonna be a long three months tbh. ] I'm gonna tell you a secret, Lieutenant, don't get knocked up by an elf.

I wasn't planning on it.

[Elf or otherwise, to be perfectly honest.]

I take it the result is a longer or more difficult pregnancy?

Just longer. It's been super easy, actually. So long, though. So long.

[leftenants]

[She raises both eyebrows in question.]

How long are we talking?

[Just for curiosity's sake.]

A year. [ a beat. ] Which isn't that much longer, but it feels like years. [ she's so dramatic. ] Given anything thought to what sect you'll join?

[leftenants]

Long enough. [She winces.] You must be exhausted.

[However dramatic Vi may or may not be, Abbie still has sympathy.]

I'm still finding my feet-- haven't really given that a whole lot of thought yet, no. There's a lot of information to process all at once. I want to be wherever I can do the most good.

[graveflowers]

[ she gives a dismissive little wave. she is super exhausted, but at least soon she will have the reprieve of spring. ]

I was the same way. Sort of. I had my mind set on the Hide -- that's the fighters and soldiers and stuff -- but then I wound up, inexplicably, in the fucking Light. Which is all clerics and doctors and shit. I'm still a little confused about it.

[leftenants]

The Hide seems like it might be the most natural choice, but I don't want to make a snap decision if I can help it. Must be some reason the Light turned out to be a better fit for you, isn't there?

[She raises an eyebrow.]

What sort of work do you do for them?

[graveflowers]

Uh, I can do some healing so that's my thing for them.

[leftenants]

[Welp, that's a more obvious fit than she'd been lead to believe.]

Sounds like you're right where you belong, then.

[graveflowers]

Yeah, I'm just not-- I mean, you go in there and you can tell why I'm sort of an outlier. [ solace and risa and lissa and myri and anastacia are all sweet and delicate and gentle and vi is just like WHAT UP SLUTS! ]

[leftenants]

Takes all kinds, doesn't it?

[No matter where they are, really.]

Think it'd be awfully boring if you all fit together like puzzle pieces. Better to be a little bit different.

[graveflowers]

That's true. We do all kind of fit together in Wynn's big puzzle, but it's like when you find two puzzles cut from the same board and put them together so it's like Dora exploring Blue Clues.

[leftenants]

Interesting mental image.

[She smiles again.]

I probably shouldn't keep you-- I'm sure you've got other people to visit with, and I should check in with my mentor-to-be, but I'm sure we'll be crossing paths again real soon.

[graveflowers]

Hopefully not in the Dragon's Light wing. [ but she offers a small smile. ] Nice to meet you. Enjoy your party.

I'll do my best. Nice meeting you, too-- next time I see you, I'll try to make sure it's not to put you to work.
