The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Sadly, no. But it is my lifelong dream to be part of a four piece singing group. Five was my back up. I knew that six is just far too much.

That is what I'm hoping. My last job had that little bit of everything to keep me going, but I lost my beautiful assistant when I fell through the Veil, so I figure this is the next best thing.

You could always find a new assistant. I'm sure you'll get lots of volunteers. They can plan our wedding reception. [ yeah, she's still going with it. ]

I'm working on a Gus here in the castle. It's just a matter of time before I wear him down, really.

Is that your method then? Sandpaper?

Pretty much. Everyone has to give in eventually.

[ she grins, shaking her head with a fondness that speaks to familiarity, not someone she's just met. and on that note: ]

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to call off our impending nuptials. You remind me too much of my brother's husband.

[He gasps dramatically, placing a hand against his chest.]

I am completely unsure if that is a compliment or an insult.

It's a compliment, Robert is great. But, you know, my brother, so marrying his pseudo-clone would be weird.

[He pauses for a moment, before nodding.]

That would be strange. Though it would indicate you had very similar taste.

[ she snorts a laugh, smiling. ] We don't. Robert is a six foot five burly linebacker turned preschool art teacher. My boyfriend works here, so. I mean, occasionally similar.

[Boyfriend. Boo hiss. Oh well, at least he's (hopefully) getting a friend out of the deal.]

So do you two do a Mr. and Mrs. Smith sort of thing?

Not quite. [ she keeps smiling at the reference. ] We're both freelancers though, so maybe one day. We haven't actually been on the same mission yet. [ which comes with a shrug, she doesn't seem to mind. ]

That's probably for the best, isn't it?

[He tips his head to the side.]

That way you won't get distracted trying to save them when you should be completing the mission?

[That's how they always do it on TV.]

Yeah, I like to think I'd be able to keep my head in the game. [ WILDCATS. ] But I probably wouldn't. Hopefully I'll at least be able to have the balls to back if of the mission if it ever came to that.

[ she's an escape artist, they're not exactly hard to come by tbh. will, on the other hand... ]

[He nods for a moment before shaking his head.]

Yeah, that wouldn't be me.

[He already did it with Abigail back home. And this is also the guy who threw himself into a bank robbery to protect his best friend.]

They're my friends and family. And odds are they're probably in a jam because of me, so what else am I going to do?

Makes sense. If it was my fault, yeah, I don't think I could sit idly by.

It's why we became Knights, right? To help people?

Yeah. [ smiling softly, she ducks her head. ] Listen, I know we called off the wedding, but you wanna head back and do that first dance thing anyway?
