"Certainly not a rumor. She's quite real." And from the way Myri beams down at her daughter, quite loved on top of it. "Thank you for the gift, Doctor. You didn't have to." But she does appreciate it.
no subject
"Oh s'that so?" he says, but it isn't Myri that he's talking to. Still though, when she speaks he looks up to her, that grin still there.
"Yes well she says she'd prefer a dragon but it'll do."
no subject
"Sorry, it sounds like you're saying she... told you that..."
no subject
“I speak baby.” Duh.
no subject
"You... Really?" She doesn't doubt him, honestly. She just has never heard of that again.

He was probably going somewhere with that.
Her question has him frowning, shocked that she'd even ask.
"Happy? Course she's happy! She's with her Mum! Mum's are great, you know."

"Thank you." She says, pulling her gaze back up to him. "I think I needed to hear that."
no subject
"Anything else you need to hear? Because I'm really quite good at talking. Sometimes it's actually quite hard to shut me up once I've got going."
no subject
"Tell me, how have you been?"
no subject
"Oh I'm alright. I'm always alright." He isn't even quite sure if he's lying or not now. He has Amy here and that's wonderful, but she doesn't really know him, she doesn't know any of what they've done. He misses his ship, misses the starts, the sky seems so far away now.

"I don't mean to be rude. You've always been so kind to me. But it's just- sometimes you look so sad, even while you're smiling."
no subject
"I'm just old," he explains, or rather uses as an excuse. He doesn't quite class it as a lie. "And sometimes old people look sad."
no subject
"I can feel it, you know." She admits after a quiet moment. "What you're feeling. I can't always control it, especially when it's strong. And it usually is with you."
no subject
"I'm sorry," he says. Not because of her ability, but because he knows how he feels most of the time, despite what appearances might seem to show. He wouldn't wish those feelings on anybody.
"And yes, well, I moisturise. But no, I'm old. About thirteen hundred, or thereabouts. It's a bit fuzzy."
no subject
"How is it you look so young? Even elves look older than you when they're not even half as old." Maybe. She's no elf expert, honestly.
no subject
"Well I didn't used to. I've had quite a few different faces. Not sure why I picked this one. Never really know why I do. But when I was young I thought I was all grown up, all grey hair and grumpy. But you grow out of it."

"It's called regeneration," he tells her, starting again, or at least in part. "Sort of a trick my people have. If they're about to die. A way of cheating it. We can change instead. Or could, I'm all out of chances now."
no subject
"What happened to cause you to be out of chances for it?"
