training ♔ monday morning

WHO || Violet Reedhym, David Levin, Lan, assorted squires and mentors, your mom.
WHAT || Weapons training!
WHERE || Knights HQ, Training Room / Armory / Firing Range / Gym, Dragon's Hide wing, 2nd floor
WHEN || June 22nd, Monday morning [backdated]
HOW || Actionspam
It's that time again. New squires (and new knights who might have missed it in the hubbub) would have heard the word come 'round that there would be open weapons orientation this Monday -- which is also open to anyone who just wants to come spar with the newbies as well. As before, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.
Vi -- or Sir Reedhym if you're feeling like making her feel old -- is running the orientation today with a special guest of surly Sir David Levin who is being his normal strong and silent type off to the side but the wall of weapons. Sir Wellington is also in attendance, being Lan. Lanning about, as he do. The small knight toting a very teeny week old infant in a sling rounds everyone up in the center of the room to start this shit off with a loud whistle and a very cheerful, "Okay, all y'all shut up!"
Some of the squires' mentor Knights will have accompanied them - others will have left them to their own devices. Everyone's welcome to tag into threads or make their own!

Don't get too cocky. Keep everything nice and tight.
[And then he'll come at him and swing again (attack 29).]

Doesn't look great for me if my squire ends up broken and bloody so early on.
no subject
I was just wearing him down.
[no, no he wasn't. the proof is so obvious I'm not even going to roll a bluff check]
no subject
He's the one who said he wanted to go normal speed.
[He was just obliging the man's wishes.]
no subject
Your idea of normal speed and mine I think are different speeds.

Fighting a goliath like you? No wonder he can't keep up. Come on then, lad. [He motions for Baal to swing at him.] He can give you pointers and you can try them out on me. Fairer fight this way.
no subject
Works for me.

[he took a deep breath and nodded, rotating his shoulders and then shifting his feet to find his balance again. When he was settled, he attacked, swinging at Thoster (atk 24) for the staff]

Good lad. You're learning.
[Not to be outdone, he strikes back with two blows of his own (attack 27, attack 16)]

You yield?

I'm sure if it was a sword, you would best me quickly.

I'm not so certain, friend. You're better than you think. [He glances to David and gives him a wink.] But at good teacher helps.
no subject
Perhaps, but I also know when to stop before I end up hurting myself. I think it is time to hit the showers, yes?
no subject
Sounds like a good idea to me. I can put these away.

Of course. I try not to work them too hard.
[But with that, he will wander off as well to see what the rest of the pairs are up to. /scene]

[and with a bow, it's shower time. /scene]
