[ Gold's been gone now for long enough to leave most people assuming that he isn't going to come back. Driven off by confirmation that he was, in fact, the Dark One from the Enchanted Forest by Gaston and Emma, the only indication that he's even alive came in a dream delivered to Belle, where he admitted that he was looking to understand more about this Dark One, perhaps seeking a way to refute the claims of the others. Plenty of people are worried, however, about what direction his search might take him. Others, however, are just plain pissed that he would abandon them without a word - and it's that anger that drove Faye to ally with GLADOS to discover that he was in Glastonbury, and with Lila's help enlist Zero to pinpoint his exact last known whereabouts, at a shitty motel. Together, the girls take a car and head out, hoping to find him once and for all.

There's only one car in the lot when they pull in, the VACANCY sign flashing forlornly above the office door. No lights are visible in any of the rooms, but a COKE machine provides some illumination, along with the lone pair of streetlamps that dully lighten the parking lot. ]

[She glances away for a moment, grumpy and defiant. But she knows Lila's right. And taking this feeling out on her isn't fair.]

he looks over to where solace works across the room, and inclines his head once to him, which solace seems to take as a cue to sort of keep anyone from approaching. ] I was hoping to have a word with the both of you, briefly.

[ he's only interrupting lila saying something rude so it's probably for the best. ]

[Oh shit. Dads home. Faye stands up once she realizes what's happening, moving to half block Lila, as if shielding her from a lecture and/or firing.]

It was my idea. She just came to make sure I didn't end up murdered by meth addicts.

[ his eyes shift to fix on faye, after he's studied lila long enough to be certain that solace has at least been able to fix any physical damage. ] Tell me what happened.

[ since faye stepped in front of her, lila is going to let her start the story. but she'll be ready to jump right if need be. ]

[She didn't actually expect for that to work. Well, now she's got Wynn staring her down and a big question to answer.]

Gold was in Glastonbury, researching magical taint. He was worried about going dark and was trying to...prove himself or something. We tracked him down to the middle of nowhere where this crazy dark fey was living in a well.

It's dead now. And Gold's back.

[ his eyes move between them once more, as if to say that clearly it was more complicated than just 'it's dead', but that doesn't change the fact that ... it is. and he doesn't look mad, tbh. ] Where is he now.

He left to go see Belle, probably. Or run away again. [ ain't even disguising her disdain. ]

Cora went to find Belle too for him. She hasn't come back here so I'm guessing they all met up. Otherwise, they would probably be here looking for him.

[ he opens his mouth to ask something else, when abruptly his drakenet phone rings. he gives them a politely apologetic gesture when he withdraws it and sees who it is, although it also seems to give him pause. ] I'm afraid I'll need to take this.

[ ofc lila perks up at that. ]

Sure. [ she stares at faye like GO EAVESDROP. gr8 plan. ]

[Faye nods in agreement with Lila's statement, waiting for him to leave before she shifts closer to the door to try to hear and

[ wynn paces out into the hall to have the conversation, and he's all business as he responds. ] This is Wynnefalshond. [ a long beat before he says in a very quiet, controlled voice, that's somehow all the more unnerving: ] Has this been confirmed? [ beat ] How many casualties? [ a slightly longer beat ] Of course. I'll send a response immediately. You can expect me to accompany them myself.

Try to minimize the damage, until then.

[ WAITS IMPATIENTLY FOR DEETS. ]

[She hangs back basically until she thinks he might be coming back towards their room. Turning to Lila she mouths 'casualties???' while her back is to the door before she slips back to Lila's bedside.]

[ lila looks askance at the door before glancing back at faye to mouth "who?" ]

[ at that moment, however, wynn returns, the phone already slid away. ] I regret that I'll have to continue this conversation later with you both. Suffice to say that I am greatly relieved to see you both back here in one piece. [ there might be the slightest bit of warning in that, although his relief is also genuine. ] For now, it seems there's an incident that requires my attention. [ he looks to faye ] Please see to it that you both get the rest you require, in the meanwhile.

Yeah, of course. [She's pretty clearly surprised that the end of this conversation isn't 'pack your shit and leave.']

[ for a brief moment lila quickly takes stock of her people before deciding, fuck it, and blurting out: ] Who're the casualties?

[ curiosity killed the cat. ]

[ his eyes move to faye like gurrrrrrrrrrrrl but w/e more important things to worry about rn. ] Civilians.

It seems a Shadow creature is on the loose in London again. But an urgent response is required, if you will excuse me.

[ she is hurt, okay, her self control is negligible rn. ]

[Faye looks a little sheepish, but just gives a shrug. Whoops?]
