[ Gold's been gone now for long enough to leave most people assuming that he isn't going to come back. Driven off by confirmation that he was, in fact, the Dark One from the Enchanted Forest by Gaston and Emma, the only indication that he's even alive came in a dream delivered to Belle, where he admitted that he was looking to understand more about this Dark One, perhaps seeking a way to refute the claims of the others. Plenty of people are worried, however, about what direction his search might take him. Others, however, are just plain pissed that he would abandon them without a word - and it's that anger that drove Faye to ally with GLADOS to discover that he was in Glastonbury, and with Lila's help enlist Zero to pinpoint his exact last known whereabouts, at a shitty motel. Together, the girls take a car and head out, hoping to find him once and for all.

There's only one car in the lot when they pull in, the VACANCY sign flashing forlornly above the office door. No lights are visible in any of the rooms, but a COKE machine provides some illumination, along with the lone pair of streetlamps that dully lighten the parking lot. ]

Mhmm. And it's just now coming up.

[watchmaker]

You were busy with the wedding. I was thinking, maybe it was because of ... who I am. That I'm being haunted by my past. But I never recognize any of the faces.

[bittersweeter]

That's nonsense. [ she straightens up so she can look sylar head on. ] You're not-- you can't be-- you aren't being haunted, it has to be something else. Dean can demons, right? Maybe this is just something you can do. [ her hand lifts to his neck, smoothing her thumb against his jaw. ] You're not that person anymore.

[watchmaker]

I know. I'm trying to be better. But what if it's not enough?

[bittersweeter]

It is! You keep trying, that's what makes it enough. You helped people in Antarctica and, while you didn't bring me back a penguin, that's still a good thing. [ she frowns, gaze imploring him to give himself a break. (diplomacy 68) ] You can't keep holding yourself back because of something you did in the past, sweetie, or you're never going to be able to move on.

[watchmaker]

[he lets himself be placated bc lila always knows ~just the right thing to say~.] Yeah ... you're right. As usual.

[bittersweeter]

I mean it. And if you're worried we can talk to Wynn about it. Or... Eric, I don't know. He probably doesn't know anything, but I trust him. [ probably the least helpful person to go to when it comes to magic, she could say zero, but. eric is eric. ]

[watchmaker]

It's probably nothing. [deals with his problems like a man.]

[bittersweeter]

Sylar. [ so one day lila is going to say "talk to wynn" and whomever she is talking to IS ACTUALLY GOING TO TALK TO WYNN. IT IS NOT HARD! ] It's not nothing, it's obviously been bothering you.

[watchmaker]

I'll talk to him, okay? Just ... not right now.

[bittersweeter]

'cause right now he's busy and you're staying with me. But sooner rather than later, okay? [ she worries about him so much. :'( ]

[watchmaker]

Okay. [as he tries to think of ways to make up being a dodo bird to her, he arrives at] ... Do you want Nando's?

[bittersweeter]

[ for a second she's like what, but then a smile spreads across her lips and she giggles. ] I love you.

[watchmaker]

So ... that is a yes, right?

[bittersweeter]

Of course it's a yes.

[watchmaker]

I'll be back in a little bit then. [he kisses her, then gets up.] Love you.

[too bad he didn't anticipate there being a giant dragon terrorizing london when he finally fuckin' gets there?!?! it's probably gonna be a million years. whoops.]

[bittersweeter]

Love you too. [ she watches him leave like a forlorn, lovestruck puppy because she's needy, but then curls up in bed again. ]
